What you gonna do

When you continue to work your ass off and somebody says something derogatory, you are going to respond with fire.

Cal stated the obvious that did not need to be stated. Just made him seem petty....like, look at me. Well, yah, we've been looking at you these last few years and you've laid massive piles of manure more often than not. This year seems to be a wake-up call for him if these Bahamas games are gonna be any indication.

Stoops didn't pull no punches. Much respect. No matter what, Kentucky B-ball will never have a 60+ thousand screaming fans watching them.

Speaking after football practice on Saturday, Stoops said he won't be "derailed" by any distractions, wherever they come from.

"When you start talking about my program and others that we compete against: me, I don't do that," Stoops said.

"I stay in my lane. So that's in defense of my players, in defense of the work that we've done. And believe me, we want to continue to push.

"But don't demean or distract from the hard work and the dedication and the commitment that people have done to get to this point. I don't need to apologize for that, and I won't."

Stoops also added that the Kentucky football program "wasn't born on third base."

"We understand history," he said. "That's great. I embrace it and love it, the history of our basketball. I'm proud of it. I love it. I didn't have that history. We're creating it."

I thought Cal and Stoops got along pretty well, but now one has to question that. I know Cal is trying to gin up support (and money) to improve/replace the bball practice facility, but he could do that in a better way. Hope this ain't turning into a Rupp/Bear Bryant situation all over again.....that's my biggest concern.
