Suprisingly we have a few Group of Five guys on the forum, and some would have a future opportunity at this. Earlier in the last decade TCU and Utah finally got their chance. Utah was a new state footprint for the PAC 12 to get into, and TCU brought the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the Big 12 with history of their old SWC foes. Ever since the Big East dissolved, the SEC/Big 10 did their poaching it seems like there is stability among all the power five conferences. The Big 12 is the only conference without 12 or more teams, which some say is less revenue. In college football cash is king.

So below we have a poll of logical non P5 teams for the Big 12 to take. What makes logic to you? Should they stay at ten? Will West Virginia always be isolated? I want to hear your view points on this. @CouchOnFire @Nod4Eight @UCFhonors

As stated, cash is king. So the likely answer is one or both Florida schools. That also opens up excellent recruiting grounds.

Sadly, the schools in the western part of the US just don't bring the media footprint. Even though out of those listed Boise is the much more stable program football wise.

Fun fact.... Did you know that besides the PAC12... There is exactly ONE Power 5 school that lies west of the geographical center of the lower 48. Every school in the B1G, SEC, ACC and all but one school in the Big12 lie in the eastern half of the USA. The west is very, very spread out compared to the eastern half of the US.

I agree, but would love to see Boise get their shot at a P5, they have earned it over the years and geographically would make more sense. It would be a long plane ride to FL for the current Big 12 schools.

Wait what school is that?

It’s gotta be BYU and Boise! Both bring the western market to the Big 12 and bring a natural rivalry to the conference. UCF or Houston could be good but neither of them carry the weight nationally like BYU and Boise St.

How much does BYU's national Mormon base help?

A lot, in my opinion! That’s how we got the new extension with ESPN. BYU just brings eyeballs. Plain and simple!

Lets take OU. You can drive from Norman to Orlando in about 19.5 hours. Norman to Boise is 22 hours.

the BIG 12 would be awesome if they add Florida St. & Pittsburgh. Bring back the "backyard brawl" and traveling partners for WVU.

I think Florida State would be willing because they feel the ACC often screw them. If they poached the ACC they could probably do...

FSU
VT
Pitt
Miami

I don't think so. FSU would need to have quite a package to move because of the terms of the ACC's agreement, right? And to move to the Big 12 with 2 huge fanbases with Texas and Oklahoma? I don't know that they want to share the spotlight that much. The ACC would be best served by separating FSU and Clemson for that very reason.
