Who’s the GOAT NFL QB? Who are some names worth mentioning for Top 5?

Scrolling through Twitter I stumbled across an argument on whether Tom Brady is the GOAT. Has his level of success (SB rings) been unparalleled? Yes. However are W/L and SB rings an accurate measurement of being the best? He’s played in a weaker division most of his career. Sometimes he’s had elite supporting casts, other times not (mostly late in career.) a lot of folks like to argue Belichick made Brady. Some argue it’s the other way. While there’s no debate he’s been the most successful from a winning perspective he’s definitely not the most talented, nor is he even the best Quarterback. He’s simply the best Winning QB. Some argue Joe Montana or Peyton Manning, but personally I think Drew Brees is the best QB the NFL has ever seen. Aaron Rodgers has made a case for it in terms of personal success. AR12 is the most talented QB in the history of the NFL. But personally I believe Drew Brees is the best QB in NFL history, his stats and efficiency speak for themselves.

Going just stats you can beat Brady.

But watching the games and seeing the difference in the game over time. I would still take Montana over him

If you’re going with Brees on numbers and efficiency, then you have to put both Marino and Elway in front of him.

Brady is ultimately the GOAT. He’s won more titles, been in more bowls, and has done it throwing for big numbers when he’s had to and done it managing games when he’s had to.

I can’t go with Brady because of the asterisks giving him an unfair advantage and I doubt very much we know about all the cheating they’ve done. Also, he’s never been the best QB in the league, albeit on the best team many times.

I always mention Dan Marino but I think Aaron Rodgers actually surpassed him as the best individual talent.

But, they do play to win the game, so I’ll take Montana, his 4-0 SB record with 3 SBMVPs and 2 NFL MVPs.
