Riley to SCum not LSU

WOW! Was just looking at the numbers.

USC has a total of 8 commits right now. 3, 4* CB's and some 3* and lowers. Including a kicker.

2 weeks to signing day. There is a ton of room for to just call guys on the west coast 'hey, you don't need to go to X school X miles away. You can stay close to home now'.

Will be interesting to see what he can get to go to USC. Right now, Oklahoma has a 5* RB from CA committed.

I expect some guys to flip to USC. They'll probably take a small class and Riley will convince some of the OU guys to come with him.

There is a huge ND commit at receiver I hope we don't lose. That is from CA. CJ Sanders.

That said. In today's age. Whatever he can't get he can hit the portal for. It isn't like he isn't used to doing that now.

His name had been mentioned a few times. I but most figured it was too lateral of a move. I never thought it was. Because and I don't say this as an asshole. The PAC is down right now. If you are Riley, and your ultimate goal is the league and not college. Would you rather go to the SEC and have to fight to turn the roster over from a B12 to a SEC roster getting beat on the whole time you are doing it, and hurting your personal brand. Or would you prefer to go to the PAC where any given year there are 2 or 3 good but maybe not great teams to compete against? No brainer to me.

I don't think USC will ever be Pete Carrol 03-05 successful again, especially when you have coaches like Chip Kelly in state. But seriously there is no reason for them not to be a 9 or 10 win team every year. And then reach for better.

Ain't this the very reason you hate Brian Kelly?

I think his name is CJ Williams. I've heard he's likely to flip now.

It is.

And it will be interesting to find out if USC improving their HC game will improve Kelly.

The biggest problem with Kelly is he just turned 60. He has just a couple of years left of this gig until he retires. There is absolutely no pressure on his seat. And he just isn't hungry like a guy like Smart, or others to win it all or else.

Realistically I am about 60% positive that the next ND HC is already on staff as the current DC

Wishing your frustrations on a rival. This personifies CFB fandom. I fucking love you for that. :ROFLMAO:

I wanted it to be Franklin like no ones business. About the only major D1 coach at what should be a prominent program that makes more bone headed decisions than Kelly.

remember the other year when Smart had that stupid fake punt that will be remembered for the ages. Franklin does something that level of stupid every couple games

You are right. Sorry. Was trying to remember his from memory.

And I hope not. This late in the cycle I don't know that ND can find a replacement of that level of quality

Could end up with Nic Anderson. He decommitted from Oregon and committed to OU to play with Riley. He's already tweeted about the news and I doubt he sticks with Oklahoma. I remember Oregon insiders were surprised he chose Oregon over Notre Dame when he originally committed to Oregon. Maybe he ends up at ND when it's all said and done.

I remember him taking an official to ND. But don’t remember anything really specific about him. Usually the ones that show real interest tend to stick in my head and he doesn’t. But then again I might have just missed him. I haven’t watched tape on him, but he would be hard pressed to be as good of a get as CJ is. And ND is looking for WR. Literally. They have 5 scholarship WR on the roster right now. So that might be why he was interested in ND was for a great chance at early field time.

The RB is Raleek Brown I think he may very well flip to SC he has a visit scheduled with Riley. Surprised by the hire definitely happy. Recruiting season just got really interesting imo

Don't know how to feel about it yet, but saw that thing @AlaskaGuy post that said Bob was going to be interim coach. I could see him maybe stick around??
I think Stoops should stay where he's at. He's built that program from the bottom up but tough to tell these days with coaches and players jumping ship on a non stop basis.
