What are we drinking tonight?

Thighs are better and the per pound price is the same. From an old grocery store manager, though.....you shoulda spent less money on a 10lb bag of leg quarters. More meat and easier to cook. Just make sure you trim the fat before you put them on the grill so it don't flame up so bad. Use the fat to season the rice.
I agree about the thighs, and leg quarters, but today, legs were on sale..

I got one of these as a souvenir on a middle school field trip back in the early 80s. Yep, we did a field trip to the Jim Beam distillery. Don't get more Kentucky than that.....(it's a souvenir cask/barrel plug)

Our state owned and ran liquor stores (ABC Store = Alabama beverage control) has periodic releases of rare and hard to find bourbons. And only at select stores, not all of them. An hour ago I googled abc bourbon release and wouldn't you know they had one today, usually people line up and they sell out early, I called the Jacksonville store and they actually had several bottles left of something I've been wanting for years, Cheers boys, it's a good night...

It's great, starts nutty with a sweet finish,, two of the stores near me still have some, I've bought 4 bottles so far,, they won't sell you but one bottle at a time or per day, they will run out soon,, but its crazy,, at $28 this is cheaper than the 1792..

do yall have to show an ID ?

Well, not really for the booze being I'm old and all, but they do require an ID to match with your card.....which is comforting.

Now, beer and wine and girly drinks, you can get those in the grocery store. Can't find them in the ABC store actually. The ABC stores are strictly for the hard stuff.

Every town around us has been selling liquor for 20+ years. My town just passed liquor sales last year and will have open liquor stores starting in May. Still have to go across the county line to buy beer on Sunday. I hate these backwoods fucks.

We can now buy beer (and whatever else the grocery store sells) on Sunday after 10 AM. Used to be after noon up until a few years ago. @Hard2Bluff knows what a dry county is like (the county I went to high school in). Folks used to have to go across the county line to Big Johns, which was the closest place that sold booze, to be able to get anything with alcohol in it. Big Johns had a drive thru window and was NOT picky at all about identification lol.

There used to be a couple of locally owned convenience stores that would sell on Sunday as a teen. You would tell them at the counter "I need a sack" aka codeword. Then they would say what you need? Then you paid for it in cash and they would say "pull in the back." The good ole days
