Good morning 5Q
We'll be praying for you. LOL!!!!Between water leaks, roof leaks, and yard work, I’ve been busy as hell lately. I finally got the flooring finished and all the trim reinstalled. Then the roof leaks… got all of them band aided until I can have a new roof put on. On top of that, I have to replace all the siding and trim. I never really paid that close attention to it, but the installers put up the lapped siding too close to the shingles. They were damn near touching, which caused wood rot and a hell of a leak. I spent all weekend installing flashing on each piece of lapped siding, and laid 3 bundles of shingles over the flashing and sealed it all with roofing tar. Looks like hell, but it’s not leaking. I’ll start gathering materials this week for the siding replacement and start tearing into it in two weeks. Once I’m done, I’ll call the roofers… I’m too old to try and do the roofing myself. On top of everything else, the power has been off the last 3 hours. I guess the Good Lord wanted me to take a break!
Much love brother! I am in a similar situation but with my porches roofs leaking. We were going to cut out some rotted plywood and patch shingles but as we were smart enough to find the cause ... the siding on the dormers aren't flashed. My brother is taking next week off from work and we are going to have about 8 squares of shingles to replace along with plywood and flash around our dormers. So far we are blessed in that the roof damage is exterior to the house.Between water leaks, roof leaks, and yard work, I’ve been busy as hell lately. I’m just afraid of what I might find once I remove the siding and get a good look. Fun timesMuch love brother! I am in a similar situation but with my porches roofs leaking. IF I find too much, it just may be a fire hazard!I’m just afraid of what I might find once I remove the siding and get a good look. Fun times! Good luck!
Maybe its time to sell (market is hot) and do the condo thing?Between water leaks, roof leaks, and yard work, I’ve been busy as hell lately. Never!!! My house is paid for, the land is mine. Besides, I have a general dislike, and extremely low tolerance for stupid people. If I was living in a condo, you would end up seeing me featured on an episode of The First 48 or some other true crime documentary detailing how I snapped and disposed of my stupid neighbors.Maybe its time to sell (market is hot) and do the condo thing?
Damn power still isn’t on. I’m having to use the inverter in my truck every three or four hours to run the filters and pumps in the wife’s aquariums to keep her fish oxygenated. Ugh…
I'm exhausted just reading it. I think I'll take my union break now.Between water leaks, roof leaks, and yard work, I’ve been busy as hell lately.
