I feel like when I first entered the work force eight years ago in 2014, a single male making $40,000 yearly was doing well for themselves. Is my mind not remembering correctly?

Goes a lot further where you live or where I do than it does in cities. Atlanta, NYC, or SF that would not pay the rent on a broom closet, let alone beer money...
