Bye Bye PAC-12

There's zero legislation that prevents an Oregon/Oregon State split up. Canzano's article was about a "growing movement" (Beaver fans) who want to push that legislation. That isn't going anywhere. If Oregon is invited to join the Big Ten, Oregon State isn't stopping them. That's nonsense. Remember when people said Oklahoma State was going to stop Oklahoma from leaving the Big 12?

“Inside sources” say different. This is why I said I wouldn’t put too much faith in anything you read from “insiders”. Sure if you throw enough stuff at the wall eventually something will stick. But in the end it’s all gossip right niw. And I definitely wouldn’t look past Stanford as the other addition if ND joins. They have a lot more to offer than you may realize.

in addition to ND and 3 Pac schools??
that's already 24,
and, at a minimum ?
seems a bit of a stretch -
yeah I don’t see that. It would be a pretty big stretch I don’t see 24 being realistic imo. ND and Stanford would make the most sense. Stanford and Cal make the second most sense.. with Stanford and Pitt being the most interesting if ND declines. Stanford does hold a lot of value between Rivalries, Academics and athletics but this is just my opinion

Big Ten would have interest in UVA, UNC, Duke, and GT at a minimum.

I'm not sure what the SECs interest would be but that could leave them with Clemson, Florida State, Miami FL, NC State or Virginia Tech.

It's not a slam dunk but I've seen crazier things

UNC and NCState won't be separated. I would like to see Clemson, FSU and VT in the SEC, but you can bet that Clemson and FSU will fight their lives away to stay somewhere besides the SEC. They are arrogant and feel they are too important. My bet is that they would go down with the ship and go all in to strengthen the ACC rather than allow it to be poached. As I stated earlier in this thread, I see WVU coming back to the East Coast within 2 years reviving their rivalry with VT.

ND holds all the cards. If they chose to stay independent, their value will fall. They have to make a decision on conference alignment. The established ties to the ACC make an interesting argument in their favor.

There's a a "movement to emphasize"

That means they are doing nothing

SEC could be interested for hoops to take Tobacco Road & Kansas to go with Kentucky.

Although odd to us, they don’t care about basketball, and compared to football, it’s a pittance anyway.

The B1G values basketball, but the media partners don’t. Basketball is a non-factor to us, imagine how much less it is to the SEC (despite Kentucky, and the run that Florida had a while back).

All else subjugate.

I’m glad you agree. We can now also “emphasize I’m hearing there’s confidence” as per the tweet you posted. Both are stories and we will see a lot of them. Can’t take social media inside sources too seriously. We’ll know in time but Stanford and ND makes far more sense.
