There's a degree of that, and it's not just the media outlets. Look at how the Freedom Caucus was outlined during the Speaker voting. Fox News blasted them, Rep Crenshaw compared them to "terrorists". Terrorists?! Because they have a different ideology than the establishment base?
You know I like to debate with people.... The funny thing was, a few weeks ago when that whole debacle was going on, people were calling them extremists etc - because that is what the news and facebook (et al) told them to think. When I asked them about the policy issues that were being negotiated - nearly everyone was on board for what the Freedom Caucus was asking for. Things like term limits, reduced spending (ok, the libs weren't for this), no more omnibus packages, taking power away from the committee chairs and giving it back to the individual reps. Truly, there isn't really a way to argue against that unless you are for tyranny.
But that disrupts the power structures in place in DC, special interest groups and lobbyists.
