Lost my Mom and my brother 7 weeks apart. Hurricane from hell gave my area more damage than it has seen in nearly 100 years in between those 2 losses. We're fine, but still struggling. Normal is gonna be different when we get there in a few months. We were without power for 19 days. Got power back the day my brother died. How's that for crazy. I'm posting this on my PC using my phone hotspot. Gonna be months before we get internet back up. Not sure how long this hotspot thing works.

Couldn't figure out which "board" to post this on. Maybe an admin can copy and paste or something so this is here and in the watercooler.

Love you guys. I miss all of you on a daily basis.

Brother we are praying for you and yours. If there is anything we can do, anything we can provide, please let us know. I will even bring you a 30 pack of Keystone if needed.

We were all worried about you. I’m sorry about your brother, so soon after your mother. Some small comfort, they’re together in paradise now, there is something beautiful about that. You’re a good damn man and I’m proud to call you my friend.

Sorry to hear about your loss, ODD. And everyone is on the same page here... if you need anything just say the word.

We have been worried sick young man!
 
Yesterday I was having a discussion with a neighbor who is partially disabled and unable to drive. As I was taking her to the store we were talking about people who have real problems/things to deal with vs sniveling little twerps that get offended over the smallest slight.
I firmly believe some people need to be taken out of the gene pool because all they do is get in the way.

But then you have all this to deal with. All I can say is condolences and God Bless. Know that we are all rooting for you to come out the other side of all this and in better shape for it.
 
So yesterday, I took 2 more stress headaches off the list.

We finally got our Highlander in the shop 3 weeks after getting rear ended. Insurance companies are backed up to hell with claims around here and they simply don't have enough adjusters.

We had a huge pine tree (about 30-36 inch diameter at the base and 60-70 feet tall) in our yard that was uprooted and hung on another one at a 45 degree angle. Expected it to fall anytime. With a two and a half year old grandson that can be gone and outside in seconds, my biggest fear was it falling on him before we even knew he was outside. Got it cut and on the ground.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. It means a lot to me and really helps.

We are making progress and hanging in there. Knowing that we have it better than many helps to keep moving forward. We lost our shop, our other shed, and about 60 percent of the trees on our property, but those can be replaced.

We got no damage to our home and we didn't lose any more family members to the storm, so we were blessed.

Shout out to @CFBHome2 for getting me the info I needed to get back on board here. You fuckers are my mental getaway.
