IIRC it was during Spring Training so it really didn’t matter anyway unless I’m wrong which is usually the case according to my ex.

A friend of mine has a cousin who faced Randy in the minor leagues. He was a lefty batter, and Randy hadn’t been called up to the bigs yet because he had control issues. He said it was terrifying.

The story I read said they signed him because he need just a little bit more time in the MLB to draw a pension. Without it he wouldnt have much of a retirement.
