I think his dad was the one behind strong arming UT but I am sure he was wanting the $$$ too. While I do not agree about him being elite ( never scored a TD against 3 teams last year and it is widely known he does not have the best decision making skills under pressure ) he does have a great arm and can make throws but he did overthrow quite a few times last season and was ranked the middle of the pack amongst SEC QBs.

I do think Josh made a good decision not only for the team but for college football in general. UT needs to get a decent QB out of the portal or there could be some growing pains with these freshman QBs they have now.

Only time will tell tho.
What good QB is still in the portal at this point? Nico fucked the Vols (and himself) harder than Lane Kiffin.

Nico Lamaleava’s deal with UCLA is reportedly $1.5M. So not the $4M he was asking for but less than what he would have made had he just stayed in TN.

That’s $1.5M in Literally the highest state income taxed state in the country.

$1.5M gonna be $800K by the time he gets it.

Steve Angeli ( ND ) is in the portal. I think he would be the best option for Tennessee. Joey Agular might hit the portal again. I know the popular choices are pretty much done deals somewhere else so I am sure ole Josh is stressed about this. Will be interesting to see how this plays out ... If they can't get Angeli I don't think they will be back in the playoffs this year that's for sure.

It may end up being a case of UT just gets a guy that will have to compete for the starting job and then see what happens.

Big 10 has Eleven Teams?
Conference so talented, it can't even count.

In the SEC, that would be possible if Nico had stayed. I think they will will win 10 counting bowl. They have won 30 games in the last three years and they are deeper this year. Will Washington win 10?
Although Washington plays a 10 game conference schedule in the Mighty B1G 10, I see 8 - 4 / 9 - 3 with a trip to the Vegas Bowl vs a $EC West team ... probably LSU.

Looks like you will lose to tOSU, UM and Oregon and it will be a big ask to sweep Illinois, Wisconsin, Purdue and Maryland. Looks like 8-4 or 7-5.
I do have you'll as a can't miss against Cal-Davis.
