It does take a special kinda insanity to serve on boats. That lack of sunshine will definitely take it's toll on ya. Luckily, I worked in the Radio Vault so I could shut the world out at times.

And A-Gang was more "special" than most bubbleheads. For those that don't know, A-Gang is actually the bastard division of engineering on a nuke boat. We were responsible for all of the non reactor/drive train equipment like hydraulics, air purification and generation, water and sanitation systems. And we were all nuke power school washouts. Look there is a lot of bullshit involved with trying to become a nuke, a lot of bullshit. IMHO, A-Gang is the ongoing positive proof and reinforcement that the bullshit is needed ... you really don't want to hear "fuck you and that" in any reactor control room.
