I approve. Gotta have that mustard.
Yep, Carolina Gold!I approve. Gotta have that mustard.
I don’t even have a smoker, but I’d roll the dice on locking in that price. If they MAKE you buy another smoker every 5 years, that probably changes things, but I have no idea how long they should last.So we finally burned the bottom of the firebox off of our vertical offset smoker. My wife has okayed me to get the smoker of my choice and she gets a zero gravity recliner. Here is where I need some help and TIA for any input:
1. Does anyone have any experience with Z Grills for a review? I am looking at the 10002E at $777 with a crowdsourcing reward. They are claiming to give you a new smoker every 5 years for this price or I can save $150 and buy it at Lowes. Methinks I will gamble that $150.
2. @OldDevilDawg can you recommend a brand of pellets?
Can't help you, buddy, sorry. My plant produces industrial pellets made mostly from pine. Our product goes to Europe and Asia for use in electricity production. So we finally burned the bottom of the firebox off of our vertical offset smoker. From what I understand, every five years you can order your replacement and only pay for shipping if needed. If you live near a store that sells Z grills, it can be shipped there for no charge at all. At worst, I pay an extra $150ish up front and they bankrupt. IF I make it five more years, I come out even or slightly ahead. If I make it 10 years, I am ahead by a lot and the three grills average to about $350 each, given shipping rates.I don’t even have a smoker, but I’d roll the dice on locking in that price. Okay, thanks. I was going to give you someone to cuss every time you had a shitty task at work. Fuckin batch, broke the entire line ...Can't help you, buddy, sorry. My plant produces industrial pellets made mostly from pine. Our product goes to Europe and Asia for use in electricity production.
Throw some magnets in there. Or maybe a live gator or two. You’ve got plenty of those. Just for shits and giggles…and to demonstrate American supremacy. Can't help you, buddy, sorry. I really hate the idea that I need a pellet grill. I loved the shit out of our vertical offset and have said all my life that BBQ is an event, not a food. But my days of nursing a hangover on my predawn dew covered grass and maintaining it for hours on end every weekend are over. On the down side is that the quality of my cooks will suffer a bit but it still beats the hell out of not being able to smoke at all.Too fancy for me. I have 2 Kamado Joe's one big one small. And they do amazing.

There's a learning curve. Give it a little time and you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner. Yes, I talked to a buddy of mine at work today that preaches his pellet grill. He's fed us a few times and I was pretty damned impressed.I pulled the trigger today and went with a Zgrill and will try to do a review.
My baby brother swears by his too and uses it a couple of times a week. Even makes deer jerky in it from time to time. There's a learning curve. I thought I was overpaying a lot compared to the grills they have in the box stores and I almost bought it local to save and skip the promo. It turns out that the stores have last year's models which don't have ash cleanout systems or the improved Wi-Fi/Bluetooth capability. I don't much care for the Wi-fi/Bluetooth but the ash cleanup system was paramount for me.Just saw the video on tik tok for thr z grill looks like a cool offer. You will have to let us know how they hold up. Just not sure how in today's landscape it stays profitable.

Yes, I went with the 1000D4E. We are hoping to be able to smoke a couple of yard birds next weekend. I will probably go with apple pellets and just salt, pepper and baking soda on the first birds to test the smoke. So did you just order it off the a grill web site ?
