The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Went to the local bar and played euchre tonight. I don't get to very often, but I enjoy it. It starts at 6 so it makes it hard for me to get there most of the year. Now that it's winter and no kids in highschool any more helps to free up some time once in awhile.

Good Morning yall, been traveling back and forth a few times to the beach, I had a issue with the management company that was "taking care of" my condo in PCB.. I had to fire them, and they pretty much went in a cleaned out all the linens and towels and made the palce un-rentable so I had to spend a bunch of money at sams club and buy and replace the door lock etc.. then find a local source for cleaning and light maintenance and join vrbo and get the lay of the land with them figuring out how to pay the sales taxes for the 3 separate entitties that stick their hand out wanting a piece of your money.. anyway, I think ive got my head above water now and pretty soon itll be back on cruise control..

Its funny how my friends that just dont know, think that since you own a condo that you can just let them go for free.. Ive owned and rented a condo at the beach in panama city beach since 2013 when my last parent died and insted of putting my inheritance into a mutual fund I decided to do this instead.. and I can tell you this,, without a mortgage payment you will clear around 10 to 20K a year but sometimes on slow years, its less, maybe twice ive lost a couple of thousand in very bad years.. thats without a mortgage, if you have a mortgage, it does NOT pay for itself, which is the question im most often asked.

Interesting. We mostly do vrbo or airbnb when we vacation if the vacation doesn’t involve camping. I have always wondered what the profit margin is. I imagine it is mostly about supply and demand but other factors are involved.

On our recent trip to Kauai had a few DM’s with the rep. She was picking my brain on suggestions for improvements because she said they were still feeling the effects of the pandemic and lack of travelers.

So I had a tractor gel up on me and two cattle waterers froze today, one of those I had to unthaw twice. Luckily I was able to get them both open by pouring hot water on the pipes. I wanted to go to a bull sale tomorrow, but with the weather being what it is, and my back up chore guy "my dad" out of commission with a knee injury im not going to make it. I will follow it online and try to pick up a couple that way. I don't like to buy a bull that I haven't seen in person but Nichols bulls are a trusted source. I've had, I believe 8 of their bulls, one angus and the rest have been simangus. They've always been good bulls and I have a lot of daughters and grand daughters of their bulls in my herd. Im after purebred simmental bulls tomorrow though. I've got some cows that are strong angus bred and I want to put purebred simis on them to increase the cross bred vigor in those calves.
