Nice! I'd say our Northern County school probably was in that mix in mid to late 80s & maybe early to mid 90s. The area sure has come back to earth since the 2000s & 2010s it really dropped off. Last champ has been 2009. A few runner ups since then but not many.

And... 4th or 5th in the state.

Yeah northern county school (North Adams or commonly known as Bellmont) used to be in that range. Now we have the big 3 (Brownsburg, Crown Point, and Center Grove) dominating the state yearly & this year the northern county's arch rival (Evansville Mater Dei) may be a strong 4. Is your state single class or classed?

5 classes. We are in the biggest. 4 teams ranked ahead of us. 1 of which is the town in grew up in.

Gotcha. We only have classes for state dual tournament that the coaches association runs. Used to have a single class dual tournament based on 1st round individual tournament the IHSAA used to run. The IHSAA only runs the single class individual tournament. Hard for us little farm towns to compete against the big cities to get an individual state champ.
Ohio has 3 divisions (classes) for everything. What sucks now is that Graham was thrown in the smallest schools division after dominating the middle divisions bc their enrollment dropped. They did however get approval to wrestle the large school division for team duals. Sucks bc the Ohio kids we worked with are small schools with newer programs. The main school that's newest probably would have their 1st qualifier if Graham didn't drop. Unfortunately they did & drew Graham to make it difficult.

I live in Mustang, grew up in Bixby.

Well 2 of 8 from alma mater made it to state, 6 of 12 northern county school, and 1 of 8 southern county school. Alma mater's 2 were champs & northern county school 1. Be my 3rd cousin was 1 of ours & kid in 4H with us was northern's. Team wise alma mater 5th & northern 3rd. Hopefully they do well in Indy next Friday & hopefully Saturday.

On Ohio side the school I helped coach youth finished 2nd in conference for HS & MS. Guessing the long time top team won both so we are gaining ground with them.

Correction for Ohio HS as they placed 2nd to the normal 2nd place team as the usual champs placed 3rd. Should only get better as oldest group I began coaching are Sophomores.

So I took the 12 closest schools/districts including 3 County schools. One district with 4 schools to our north had 3 schools qualify 5 wrestlers. They went 1-4. 4 other schools had no qualifiers and the other 1 in their group went 0-1. Now for our county: Northern 1-5; Central (alma mater) 2-0; Southern 0-1. 4-11 is not great and still more work to be done in this area. Plus only 21 placers out of 112 isn't cutting it yet either. Though 2 other semi states have 24 & 27 so not as bad as before.

Iowa's state championship finals are about to start.
Only one placer from my home town school.
The girls state championship was two weeks ago, had two finalists and the first girls state champion for my school.

So far no interest in girls wrestling at alma mater or any of the county schools in Indiana. Maybe next year the northern will have 1 or 2. They had 2 runner ups when it first started as an emerging sport and then no others have gone out in 5+ years. 2nd year it's been sanctioned as an IHSAA sport. In Ohio our school there has had 4 or so. Excited for current 6th grader on youth that's kicked butt in OH. Thinking of getting my USAW Teal certification in the off-season.

Have you seen Dreshaun Ross in person?

No, I have not seen him in person, he is slick though. I was upset that Iowa didn't get him. Keuter just dosen't have the defense, foot speed, and power to be a top 3 heavy weight. Iowa and okie today at 5, it's been hate week all week here. 😁 unfortunately I don't see Iowa winning. 😪
