Also playing around with some heirlooms this year, got a Cherokee purple and a bush Goliath. We'll see.

Brandywine is my favorite heirlooms, they are a large beefsteak style, deep pink and grow to 8 feet tall. They have the best flavor, the do have a large core, but I start at the bottom to slice them for sandwiches then when I reach the core, I cut the sides off for salads. We love that old fashion taste. The Cherokee purple is supposed to be very similar to Brandywine. Gonna have to build a trellis for them later. They are supposed to get long and grow all season. The bush Goliath on the other hand will bush to 3 or 4 ft and only produce for about 3 weeks..

I like all the aforementioned heirloom tomatoes, but my favorite is a Mortgage Lifter.
