I've never wanted to try it and I've had a beard, (other than a few exceptions ), of some shape since I was a sophomore in high school.

Some swear by it, others can't stand it.

What kind of brush do you use? My beard is from 2 years of non trimmed growth … I will get it shaped every couple of months but not shortened … and it is full down to my nipples. I use a brush that my barber recommended and it is oval, soft bristles and about the size of the palm of my hand(looks like a shoeshine brush) that does a great job of keeping it detangled yet does not remove natural oils/moisture so my beard stays soft. My best advice is to talk to an old school barber and spent $15 on a quality brush.

Everybody in Idaho has a beard. I asked one guy at Nod's wedding and he said he just uses a good hair conditioner. I think @Nod4Eight may know about beard oil, though.

At my age and with my genes, you tend to be proud of all you have, no matter the location. TBH I am thinking about a back weave.

I've always used conditioner on mine when it was longer. Since I cut it down to a goatee tho there really has not been a need to so...
