Busch will give you a '3-month supply' of free beer if you adopt or foster a pup as shelters close

  • Busch is giving a three-month supply of beer to people who adopt a dog from Midwest Animal Rescue & Services.
  • The pandemic has prompted many shelters around the country to close, but dogs still need foster homes.
  • The company is offering 500 people who are approved to foster or adopt a $100 gift card to buy the beer.

With shelters closing their doors during the pandemic, there is a dire need for foster and adoptive homes for pets around the country.

If a new pup to social distance with wasn't enticing enough to get people to open their homes, Busch and Midwest Animal Rescue & Services in Minnesota have teamed up to offer another perk to prospective dog owners: free beer.

"Busch is bringing two of your favorite things, beer and dogs, together for a great cause," Busch said in a statement. "Anyone who fosters or adopts a dog through MARS will receive a fresh, 3-month supply of crisp, cold Busch beer."

Busch won't hand out the cold beer itself, according to the fine print. But it'll give 500 recipients — who must be 21 or over — a $100 gift card they can use to buy it.

Busch also donated $25,000 to the MARS shelter, which has dozens of cats and dogs up for adoption or foster.

"If you're looking for a way to do some good right now (and have IRL companionship), this is your chance," the statement said.

Those interested in any of the pets can fill out an application and mark Busch in the referral. The promotion runs from March 25 to April 22.

The pandemic, which has prompted lockdowns around the world, has also led to a spike in pet ownership.

Having a pet comes with mental and physical health benefits, which can be particularly helpful for people socially isolating.

$100 is a three month supply for who? Nobody in these parts...

In all honesty this is a HORRIBLE idea... You will have drunks trying to adopt a dog.. That they will need to re-home after they finish their beer.

Hopefully they do some checks and balances here.

Shoulda been a 100 dollar gift card or 3 months supply. Well, "normal" drinkers could do with the 100.

Woulda lasted me only a few days. I tell these "social drinkers" how I used to drink and while their eyes cross I add, "Why do you think I wound up in AA."

Most people just think they can drink. Majority of them only do it to fit in. Sometimes I feel sorry for the poor bastards when they embarrass themselves.
I've told this story before, but it's worth telling again...

Remember that old Army slogan "we do more by 9am than most people do all day"? Well, I tried that with drinking. I took a day off work just to test this out. The night before I bought a case of beer and then went to bed early, I had an early morning planned. I woke up at 5am and started drinking - 1 beer every 10 minutes. The first couple of hours wasn't that bad, but by about 7:30 I was pretty lit. I finished my 24th beer just before 9am and passed out on the kitchen floor. I woke up at about 2pm and went fishing.

Sorry I missed your call last night. 14 in 3 hours did me in after spending all day in the sun with a torch.

We used to have a hundred hour challenge on weekends. 100 beers in 48 hours is only 2.01 beers an hour. Sounds easy, but that is a rough row to hoe, being it is 2 cases and 2 beers a day, twice in a row. I never made it but have passed out twice in one day before it got dark out.

Hell, we used to take the 96 challenge on the regular. 4 day weekend is 96 hours. 4 cases is 96 beers. That's 1 beer per hour. I made it into the 80s a few times but never succeeded. Never met anyone who did.
