Bleacher Report QBU

Bleacher Report has released their updated QBU rankings. While they made some good points, the list seems utterly unrealistic. It goes as follows:
1. Purdue
2. Michigan
3. NC State
Honorable Mention:
Washington, Oklahoma, USC, Stanford, California, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami

Now every school there definitely has some QB talent to boast about but there is no reason Michigan should be number 2. Purdue can’t be number 1. Purdue has a very solid resume with QBs historically, but nothing recent. Can one really say Miami has a deeper and more successful QB history than Michigan State?
All in all, I read these Bleacher Report or ESPN articles and I wonder how so many people disagree with them, and they are widely proven wrong, but they continue to have high profile jobs??

How in the hell did Oklahoma not be #1. Heisman voting in the last 3 years should speak louder than pundits.
They said they only considered NFL success, but Oklahoma’s recent run of QBs, really since Bradford in ‘08 is unrivaled. Teams like Michigan State have arguably had better college QB production than Michigan. Ohio state has had uber-successful QB play since Troy Smith Heisman campaign in ‘06. Clemson has had superior QB play the last decade. I know the list takes into account 50 years of history or so, but it’s preposterous to merely focus on NFL success. Michigan’s Tom Brady, Griese, and Jim Harbaugh being listed as top 3 does not boast incredible college success. Sure, Brady is the GOAT of the NFL but that list can’t trounce a list like Oklahoma, USC, Notre Dame, or evening NC State.

It's long standing knowledge that CFB QB success doesn't translate to NFL QB success. The game is very different comparing the 2 levels. If they were to do a CFB level QBU report versus an NFL QBU report, the results would be ridiculously different.

I’m just sayin that to make a list like that I feel like there needs to be a balance between pro-success and college success. Teams like Oklahoma have to be in a QBU ranking list. Really I think the whole system is screwed, these high-profile guys don’t provide the deep level of content that I see from lower-profile writers.

I fully agree. Most high profile big time writers aren't as familiar with the CFB world as many of us fans are. It's ridiculous how screwed the CFB media landscape is. I'm a huge fan of you and the others here at FQ. You guys are very knowledgeable fans that just happen to be "lower-profile" writers. John has done an amazing job bringing all of you to a small place. You and the others providing content will make this forum grow to national prominence. I'm confident of that.
