The Pit of Misery: Politics and Religion

I’m not discounting them at all. And yes, I’m some cases it was extremely radical. My Mom’s famiky has rocks thrown through their windows because they would let Black people walk in the front of the store and not the back. They treated “the help” like they were family and that was extremely radical at the time.

I’m merely pointing out that when people, and this isn’t just now, it’s gone through history, say they don’t like how things are going they don’t realize that change in this country happens revolutionary and not evolutionary, and there was a good amount of blood spilt on both sides for those said people to work and make better lives for generations after them.

Historically, my family has always been "the help". Sharecroppers at best, but usually just ridiculously low paid field help whether it was cotton, tobacco, or even today in my part of Georgia, Vidalia onions or blueberries. We never saw color in those folks we worked side by side with and still don't. Hell, many of them are still part of my "family" even though it's been 40 years since I worked side by side with them. One of the black ladies that I worked with all those years ago.....I work with her son now. I coached him in PeeWee football. Him and my daughter are VERY close. I know if she needed him for any reason, he'd drop everything and get to her before I could. At the same time, I do my best to help him at work. If he needs an ass chewing for getting slack, I'll jokingly tell him, "Don't make me call your Mama". But he knows I'm only partially joking and he knows I have his best interest in mind. I consider him one of my kids.

I said all that to say this.....

I'm a firm believer that stories like mine and yours are WAY more prevalent that what we're lead to believe. Do we have bad apples? Yes. Across the board. Bad apples do not have an ethnicity.

Little Johnny meets Nancy Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi was visiting a primary school in Orlando and visited a grade four class. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.
The teacher asked Mrs. Pelosi if she would like to lead the discussion on the word 'tragedy.' So our illustrious Democrat asked the class for an example of a 'tragedy'.
One little boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs him over and kills him, that would be a tragedy."
"No," said Pelosi , "that would be an accident."
A little girl raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove off a cliff, killing everyone, that would be a tragedy."
"I'm afraid not," explained Pelosi . "That's what we would call great loss."
The room went silent. No other child volunteered. Pelosi searched the room.
"Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"
Finally at the back of the room, Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher held her breath.
In a quiet voice he said: "If the plane carrying you was struck by a 'friendly fire' missile and blown to smithereens that would be a tragedy."
"Fantastic!" exclaimed Pelosi , "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?"
"Well," says Johnny, "It has to be a tragedy, because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss ... and you can bet your sweet ass it wouldn't be an accident either!"
The teacher left the room.

Imo, peaceful protests can be productive. And can work.
When the deaths of a few, are used to justify rioting and looting, burning cities down, assaulting LEO'S, the original message is lost. And will not get sympathetic support from the masses. Actually, I believe it will make people against their cause, because of it.
Actually just about anything can be used to justify anarchy. WHERE IS THE FRIGGIN LEADERSHIP TO CLAMP DOWN ON THIS BULLSHIT????

Man, this is a sad day. It seems we've lost some posters, and for what? A disagreement of opinions?
It saddens me that we can not have civil discourse. Shit, this was created just for that purpose. Along
with keeping trolls out. I don't know anyone here who agrees with rioting and looting. Not one person.
I do know some who agree w/ peaceful protests, me being one. It seems they stay until curfew and go
home. If they stay and riot, the protest wasn't their purpose. People were praising the people who were
protesting the stay at home shit, and spitting on the cops, but don't agree with holding a sign in protest?
Is that really it? The constitution applies to everyone, period. Anyway, I will step out so not be be a pussy
or snowflake. I won't run off calling people names...
Peace to all..
Couch
Good post.
I am all for peaceful protests. Even if I don't agree.
Rioting and looting I am against. No "reason " justifies that.
I am against spitting on the popo. That is still assault.
You are not a pussy or snowflake. I have meet you and talked to you irl.

That was my entire point... thank you for simplifying it for me.
Peaceful protests, yes! When they become not peaceful, it's no
longer a protest, but a riot. And it takes away from the peaceful
message. This stopped being about Floyd maybe a day and a half
after he was killed. It's become something that I can not stand to
watch...
Though I will say, some police are shooting innocent (yes, doing no
wrong) people. That one that shot the homeless man in a wheelchair
in the head, damn! It seems to be the media and not the rioters they
are aiming for. WTF are they standing down and watching the city
burn, but pushing old men and inciting shit?
Can you say Event 201? The plan is working!

I used to think, that gobment was incompetent. But no. Nothing happens without a "purpose ".

Did the Atlanta City Police Chief, resign, because of a legit shoot, that she would get mega backlash for having to defend?

Nothing will be done to curb these riots, looters, etc.
Why?
Because it needs for shit to get out of hand, more than now, to justify a Declaration of Martial Law.
Tptb, need for Martial Law to be enacted. To further their end game.
