So I go in my basement this morning and there is water pooled up around the floor drain about 2 inches deep spreading out across the floor, getting some boxes wet. Shit. We had another 1.5 inches of rain early this morning on top of the 8 or 9 inches in the last week and a half, the ground is saturated and the water is finding it's way in through any small crack in the walls and floor and through the old chimney port. This house is an old farm house and my great grandpa dug the basement, in the 30s, with a team of horses and a box scraper while the house stood above it. Just what I wanted to do today.
