Give me your highlights so far.

For UGA, Offensive Line Coach, Sam Pittman continues to prove he's worth his weight in gold, and then some.

5 OL committed for the class

5-star OT Broderick Jones 6'5" 275 #20 nationally per 247 Lithonia, Georgia
4-star OT Tate Ratledge 6'6" 322 #37 nationally per 247 Rome, Georgia
4-star C Sedrick Van Pran 6'4" 305 #101 nationally per 247 New Orleans, LA
4-star OT Chad Lindberg 6'6.5" 327 #131 nationally per 247 League City, Texas
4-star OT Joshua Braun 6'6" 335 #279 nationally per 247 Live Oak, Florida

There are 39 O-linemen in 247's top 300 players nationally. All 5 of those are among the top 37 OL's in the nation. 4 of them are top 23 OL's nationally. That is astounding.

What you got?

That was lazy. I did research to come up with my post. Give me enough info to make me think Saban and staff are better at recruiting than Kirby and staff.

Yeah, yeah, I know......your defense will be look what Saban did to Kirby the last 2 years. That's in the past and Kirby now has the talent on board. Come the SECCG, Saban is going down. Granted he's gonna have to get there first. Prolly lose to Auburn and LSU with their 60 points a game offense.

That was lazy, I do agree. 100%

I didn't want to say 17 National Championships, so I just inserted a cute GIF. :)

Was meant to be a good thread about what fans of all teams were happy about their coaching staff and what they were doing with their recruiting. I was just hoping for details about all others teams. Sorry you didn't get it. You do you, though. I ain't gonna bitch much. I'll try harder with my next attempt at a CFB related thread.

Useless information. Holy Jeebus you Bammers and Tillmanites are fucking arrogant and lazy. Put all the "WE ARE THE FUCKING BEST" in another thread. I'm asking fans of all teams about actual recruiting information. Thanks for helping the Bammer ruin the thread as soon as I fucking started it.

Damn good info. Sorry I was a dick, but this is the kind of stuff I was looking for. 3 of the top 10 OT's in the nation. That's solid as hell. Hoping others will post the best highlights of their recruiting class and what they are most proud of. Seriously....thanks. I have a curiosity about all this recruiting stuff and I work too damn many hours to keep up with every team.

Kirby will get your boys right. I fully expect to see the Dawgs win the SECe this year. I hope you beat the Viles and the Barn by 4,002, each.

SECCG....see you Bammers there. Kirby finally stops the miraculous comeback and wins the damn game. Bank it. Then UGA has to beat Bama AGAIN in the playoff. I'm 100% sure UGA wins the SECCG, but no one has ever been successful at beating Saban twice in the same season.

Itd be hard to argue any team in the country has recruited better than UGA under Kirby.

Except Alabama has. Let's just compare the classes each has signed.

2016- This was a partial class for Kirby but I think it is fair to say he landed most of the good players in the class or at least kept them on board.

Alabama 3 5 stars 14 4 stars- 17 4 and 5 star players
Georgia 3 5 stars 11 4 stars- 14 4 and 5 star players

2017- This monster class for Alabama is what set up their smaller takes in 2018. Where they did have misses but didn't have as much room.

Alabama 6 5 stars and 18 4 star players. 24 4 and 5 star players
Georgia 3 5 stars and 17 4 star players. 20 4 and 5 star players

2018- Georgia gets their only win in recruiting over Alabama this season so far

Georgia 7 5 Stars and 15 4 stars- 22 4 and 5 stars
Alabama 2 5 stars and 13 4 stars- 15 4 and 5 stars

2019- Alabama was back with room to spare and tore it up in Top talent. Georgia had a great class too just not to the level of what Alabama landed.

Alabama 3 5 stars and 23 4 star players - 26 4 and 5 star players
Georgia 5 5 stars and 15 4 stars- 20 4 and 5 star players

So a 4 year total for the 2 programs

Alabama landed 14 5 star players and 68 4 star players with a total of 82 an unreal number of Top talent even with a down year in 2018
Georgia landed 18 5 star players and 58 4 star players for a total of 76. Another great number but slightly behind Alabama over the same time frame.

When we look at current commits Alabama is widening the gap even further "So far". Alabama has landed commitments from 2 5 stars and 16 4 stars so far. Georgia 3 and 11 respectively.

What Georgia is recruiting better than Alabama right now is the LB positions. All props there it has been a sore spot depth wise for Alabama the past couple of seasons due to injuries and having to plug in inexperienced players that aren't to the level they were a few years ago.

UGA under Kirby has a 3 year running total (according to the 247 composite) of 933.89 which would be his 1st 3 full cycles (not including the 2016 transitional class)
Over those same 3 years Bama has a running total (247 composite) of 931.31. Very small difference, so like I said UGA under Kirby has arguably recruited better than anyone.

Hmm that is a different tone and you are removing one of Kirby's recruiting classes to get to that number. While also not including the current cycle as far as commitments. Alabama over a 4 year cycle has out recruited everyone even including 2018 when they didn't have room for a full class.

I'm also questioning why you are using a total composite score for 3 seasons. It doesn't change the fact that for 3 of the 4 seasons Alabama has signed the higher rated class via that same composite score.

Here are the composite scores each season

2016

Alabama 302.14
UGA 281.31

2017

Alabama 323.87 (Highest rated composite of any class signed by either program in this span)
UGA 301.60

2018

UGA 323.31
Alabama 289.94

2019

Alabama 317.50
UGA 308.98

Heck 2 of the 3 seasons you want to point out Alabama signed the best rated class of the 2. In those 3 season Alabama signed both the highest rated composite of that span in 2017 and the 3rd highest in 2019. I get that the short class for Alabama in 2017 drags the overall total down but when both teams have had full room to sign classes the past 3 or 4 seasons Alabama has landed the higher rated class.

I used 17,18,&19 for 2 reasons:
1. 16 was a transitional class for Kirby, he had about 3 months to actually recruit it. While still technically a class he signed seems like less of an accurate representation of his recruiting skills as opposed to classes he had 10-12 months to recruit.
2. The 20 class has yet to sign so we have no idea what those classes will look like come signing day. Sure Bama has 13 more points, but they have 5 more recruits. We dont really know what these classes will look like come signing day.

The fact is that Bama signed more players from 17-19 and had a lower overall point total in the same time period compared to UGA. Its not a massive difference by any means, but like I said, UGA has arguably better than anyone else in CFB.

How is that a different tone? I said it was hard to argue that anyone recruited better than Kirby at UGA, and in my 2nd post I said Kirby has arguably recruited better than anyone. Sound pretty much the same.

16 wasn't that transitional. It is comparable to Alabama's '18 class when they couldn't sign 25 like they normally would. Yet you want to toss it out when saying "Smart has recruited the best and it is hard to argue". It just isn't true. Saban and Alabama have recruited the best in that span. Recruiting isn't everything though and Dabo has shown he can get a lot done with less recruits as long as they are high quality recruits. There really is no argument though on which program has recruited the best overall. Every resource you look at says it is Alabama.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...rankings-on-average-over-the-past-five-years/

It's not arguable when every resource says it is Alabama. Yours is definitely a fans perspective in this case. I would say Smart has gameplanned better than Saban in their last 2 match-ups and the talent on the field has changed the course of those 2 games late. That is where Alabama's roster depth showed up at several different positions. If Kirby had the same level of talent (You are claiming he has had more in your argument) then UGA would have won those 2 games going away.
