Welcome to Athens young man. I look forward to seeing you become the next great at RBU.

Branson Robinson Commits to Georgia (msn.com)

The 5’10” 220 pound running back out of Germantown High School in Madison, Mississippi is considered by recruiting experts to be one of the top running back prospects in the class. He is already drawing comparisons to former UGA great Nick Chubb for his physical running style.

Robinson’s frame lends itself to physicality, but that doesn’t mean he lacks speed. Clocked at a 4.49 forty-yard dash, he spends his offseasons running track for Germantown.

Auburn picks up a commitment from 5'10", 205lb RB Damari Alston

Alston is a 4-star running back out of Atlanta, GA and ranks as the #300 overall player and #28 running back in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He has been a standout at Woodward Academy for 3 years and has rushed for over 2,500 yards and 36 touchdowns over his 3 seasons thus far.

Alston is the 2nd highest rated commit in the Auburn recruiting class right now, only behind QB Holden Geriner out of Savannah, GA. Alston’s commitment brings the Auburn football recruiting class up to #63 in the 247Sports composite rankings and one step closer to jumping Ole Miss who is #13 in the SEC right now.

Elite speedster Jordan Anthony commits to Kentucky (msn.com)

“Anthony is the fastest high school sprinter in America. A month after camping in Lexington with the Wildcats, he traveled to Oregon for the Nike Outdoor Nationals Boys’ Track and Field Championships. Anthony won the 100m dash, claiming the national title in 10.21 seconds. How fast is that? This year’s 100m collegiate champion from LSU was not that much faster, clocking in at 10.05.”

10.21 is cooking, even for a smaller guy.

I remember when Thomas Tyner ran a 10.28 as a 200+ pound RB in HS. I really wish his career didn't get cut short because of injuries. He had tons of potential.

That's crazy fast for a running back. First time I ever saw Herschel Walker on TV he was running the 100 for UGA in an SEC track meet. It was his freshman season, prior to football season. he was 6'2" 210. The rest of the guys on the block on each side of him were tall skinny guys with long legs. He looked like a lumberjack in comparison. Herschel blew them away winning by 5 yards or more. I knew then he was gonna be special.

After further research I discovered that Herschel ran a 10.23 in 1982.

Georgia picks up commitment No. 13 from Houston WR Dillon Bell (247sports.com)

The 6-foot-1.5, 211-pounder, who plays both running back and receiver for the private school, turned heads at camps and workouts and picked up a number of big offers. Bell participated in a private workout at Georgia and earned an offer following his performance. The next day Texas A&M extended a scholarship, with Auburn sending one the day after the Aggies offered. Bell initially planned to wait until his birthday, Nov. 6, to make his commitment, but he accelerated that process this week and decided during a return trip to Athens this weekend that he had seen enough.

Move over Buckeyes, Penn State has the top-ranked Class of 2022 right now (yahoo.com)

Penn State has moved into the top spot on the 247 Sports composite team recruiting rankings as of August 2. This comes after a successful weekend of recruiting news for the Nittany Lions and a notable de-commitment from the Buckeyes over the weekend. That allowed Penn State to slide ahead of Ohio State and remain in front of Alabama. Alabama moved up to No. 2 while Ohio State dropped to No. 3 in the latest team recruiting rankings as calculated by 247 Sports.

James Franklin doing work.
