Now under new naming rights, and back by popular demand, it is the return of the College Football Survivor Series Challenge!!!

This will serve as the official sign-up thread on this 5th Qtr site. The main sign-up thread will be set up on the CFB SoundOff website, as well. Also, if there is any other national board that you or others migrated to after Rivals closed down, feel free to let me know, and I'll see about involving that one as well.

*Only sign up on one board. If you post on this board AND CFB SoundOff (like Toadman for example), you only need to sign up on one board or the other.

Here are the bullet points/rules for the contest to refresh past players' memories, and introduce new participants:

- Ideally, I will max the amount of participants at 20-25, and will adjust depending on how many sign up.

- Each player takes turns "drafting" one of the now-136 FBS programs. No team can be drafted twice (obviously).

- Players will draft up to 5 teams (or 6 if the number of participants is lower) in a snake-style draft

*For those that don't know, snake-style order is 1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3 etc.

- Those 5 teams are then yours to root for throughout the 2025-26 CFB season

- Each week, W/L records of your combined "roster" of teams will be updated. ONLY REGULAR SEASON GAMES WILL MATTER

- The winner will be determined based on the best OVERALL record of the 5 combined teams at the end of the regular season.

- Tiebreakers will work as follows:
1. Any head-to-head matchups
2. Highest combined conference record
3. Number of teams in the CFP
4. Number of Conf. Champs
5. Draw straws
6. (If you've honestly made it this far, then we're just gonna have you kick each other in the balls until one of you says "I quit." If you're a guy facing a woman....you have my pity.)

- ****The Draft will begin on Mon. August 18th at 11 AM (CST) and run until at the latest just before midnight on Wed. August 27th.

This is due to the short notice of posting this contest. So you all will have from now until MONDAY to sign up for the Draft/Challenge.

- Last but least, I will accommodate for all posters that only use one site. I plan on making CFB SoundOff the main hub for records and results once the season begins, and will provide a link for other sites to use. If you cannot read what is posted here, on another site, I will work something out.

As for the Draft, I will provide a Draft Thread for updates on each site a participant is representing from (if they cannot or do not use the SoundOff board)

Now then, in case you were wondering when you can start signing up.............................

So, on August 18th, you will post a new thread on here so we can draft? Do we have a draft order like Fantasy snake draft?
Yes. I will have a thread on both sites specifically for the Draft.

I'll put together and release the draft order once sign-up is complete and we know how many participants in total we will have. And yes, it will be snake-style.

We had a way of restructuring it back on Rivals, but since this is the first year with new players on these boards, we'll stick with the traditional fantasy draft style.

P.S. I actually wanted to see if there was a website where I could create a draft as a sort of hub for everyone, and you could actually pick the teams from the list on that site. Unfortunately the only one I could find has a free-play limit and you'd have to pay extra (because of course) if you wanted things like more players, draft options etc.

Bump. 2 more days to sign up

Btw, a few more notes:

- The Draft is technically on a timer, but again it's really just making sure we're done before the first games kickoff on that Thursday, August 28th. So all I ask is that those of you participating be willing to check either message board periodically once the Draft begins.

- Speaking of the deadline, YES, we will draft through Week 0. You are more than welcome to draft one of the teams playing in Week 0, and even hope they're available after Week 0 to get an early leg up. If you think drafting a 1-0 Kansas State or 1-0 Iowa State is gonna help you win this contest......by all means go for it. 😉

- One thing I forgot to mention is that there is also a SIDE CHALLENGE. It's pretty straightforward, but we call it the Ultimate Survivor Challenge. If one of your 5 teams wins the national championship, you win the Challenge.

About 3 hours until the Draft is officially open.

I'll still take any last-minute participants.

If we end up with 10 (or less than 13) then we will bump up the number of teams per player to 6.
