A salute to Will Reichard. Bama's exiting kicker owns the record book. Just read it, ya fucking heathens.

Well done, young man. Well done, indeed. You made your Daddy proud.

It will be 8 years come March.
8 years since he lost him, 8 years since he kept his head up and kept on grinding.
Last night he walked off the football field as his college football career came to an end.
Way out west in Pasadena, California, Will Reichard kept his head up and made his father proud.
Made the Bama Nation proud, too.
It's going be awhile before college football sees another kicker like him.
Will Reichard was far from the most gifted athlete on Crimson Tide football teams over the last 5 years.
But for 5 years, the Bama kicker shared his gift.
Hard work, positivity, empathy, class.
Will Reichard had them all.
And as the kicker from Hoover, AL suited up for the Crimson Tide for the last time, the greatest kicker in the history of Bama football has left behind a list of accomplishments longer than a midnight train.
In 5 years at Bama, Will Reichard attempted 297 extra points.
He missed twice.
In 5 years at Bama, Will Reichard never missed a field goal of less that 30 yards, and he went 10-of-13 on fields over 50 yards, two of which were last night.
In 5 years at Bama, Will Reichard scored 547 points, making him the all-time leading point scorer in the history of college football.
547 points is the result of a whole lot of field goals and a whole lot of extra points made, and after every successful kick, Will would point to his father Gary in Heaven.
Gary Reichard fought pancreatic cancer with all his might, but Will Reichard's father, coach and advisor went to the Lord in March of 2016.
Will wishes his dad could have seen all of his accomplishments.
He has a strong feeling that somehow, he did.
Will Reichard accomplished so much during his years at Bama.
He walked his sister Taylor down the aisle at her wedding.
He made the decision to play one more season at Bama even though he could have turned pro last spring.
He received his Master's degree from UA.
He married his high school sweetheart and fellow Bama grad Amelia Auchmuty.
He showed the world what loyalty and grace are all about.
Will Reichard accomplished more than even he may realize in his 5 years at Bama.
He put Bama fans at ease as their anxieties over their kickers vanished.
He was a true student-athlete who was a perfect example of how it's done.
He will forever be honored to have worn the Crimson, something that means the world to Bama fans everywhere.
Will Reichard held his head high as he walked off the Rose Bowl field last night, and while so many memories are behind him, so many new memories await him.
And as the stadium grew smaller as the Bama team buses pulled away deep into the night, Bama's kicker could feel a ray of sunshine.
For over the last 5 years at Bama, Will Reichard made his father and his family proud.
Made the Bama Nation proud, too.

The kicking game has been a sore spot for BAMA. Will gave us a reliable kicker. And that was a good thing.
Reliable was the best you could do?

I don't mean to be an ass, but that's a horrible choice of words.

^^^^^That is fucking amazing. It may get him into the CFB Hall Of Fame......which currently has only 1 kicker as a member.

I appreciate that Will missed a FG in Knoxville 2022. So, there is my appreciation.

Give it a rest crayon eater.

I'm just saying my piece and after all that had already been said there wasn't anymore to add really.

If you consider my giving credit where credit is due bootlicking, it just proves more that you are just a homer and not a CFB fan. Respond however you want. You made your bed. Go lie in it.
When was the last time a bammer has given credit to a departing Vol? Never
That is not the way the bammers and us do things. Do you think Toad gave an atta boy to Bo jackson? Hell no

You have made a bed of sickly sweet gooey sentiment. It frankly makes me want to vomit. There is no place for that kinda talk in CFB.

A friggin kicker to boot...

Er,
1. I was a toddler when Bo Jackson was a player
2. I respect and admire Bo and have always sung his praises. For all my criticism of Auburn he’s the one guy I’ve never -literally never- said anything but good things about
3. My sister baby sat his kids, and he tipped her more per night than I made in a week (high school wages, me working 35-39 hours in retail)
4. What the hell?? What’d I do to you??

Additional:

I don’t think it’s wrong to praise quality players on other teams. I’ve always been extremely praising of Brock Bowers, for example, or even Bo Nix (who I have reasons to dislike, given where he played). Those are just two current players of rivals but I don’t think complimenting KIDS is a betrayal of fandom. I hate Auburn and LSU and Tennessee but I might occasionally say,” yeah but ________ was a good kid. For a Vol.”

Agreed. Ive even become a fan of Lamar Jackson in the NFL who is a Louisville Heisman winner (of course we beat him though. ha). After they leave, no hard feelings.

You have never done this and you have called Bo Nix, Bo Dix.
