Since this is a politics thread, I am a libertarian not belonging to any party. I have voted for people in both major parties along with 3rd party candidates and legitimate write ins for federal offices.

Call me wrong if you want to, but I suspect that the creation of this thread was a bit premature and potentially brought about by your own "political opinion". I love you, bro, but this wasn't warranted.

Eh, it's just because I hate seeing politics everywhere and there's a part of me that hates the American system of politics and how it's been lately so I'd just rather it have a "congregating place" if you would.

Oh yeah, my political leanings are wild as hell in America, I don't believe in hierarchy or government at all so I'm on this weird island of hateful hate of politics lol.

I just felt that things will get out of control soon with multiple threads with things about I'm a peach this, war that, NAFTA 2.0 this etc. I just didn't want it to have room to spread like it does on the hoop and that's a me thing and I own that up right.

I should have asked everyone before putting this up. I'll go ahead and take it down.

I get it. I really do. JMO, but it took me many years to accept that when my life was dedicated to defending our Constitution, I was also responsible for defending the free speech rights of those I disagreed with. I know you well. I don't think you thought it through. Limiting where we can talk limits our ability to be adults and agree to disagree. It creates the same thing we have in our media and our Capitol. No place for those of us in the majority and a war zone for the extremes on both sides of the aisle.

Eh, I'm fine with keeping it contained in one thread. However, I think circumstances happening in Iraq, regarding Iran, have been blown out of proportion immensely by main stream media. And I believe that's a large contributing factor to this thread being created.

Where I live I have quite a few Persian friends and I’ve been asking them about this but they’re so whitewashed they’re don’t even really know or care what’s going on over there. They admit to not liking the mullahs tho! I have just a few Arabic friends but they’re Saudi’s so they secretly hope that crazy Sunni’s can prevail in Iraq but they’re also not too fired up by all this.

I’m not big on censorship either. We may not agree on something, and that’s ok. Censorship stifles knowledge and growth. It would get pretty boring damn quick if we all had the same opinion on everything. I’ve seen home boards where any post that wasn’t in lockstep with the “we’re the greatest team ever” mantra got you banned. No thank you!!!

I appreciate y'all leaving these up. I think that a bunch of us are much closer on core beliefs than many realize.

I'm capable of making my own booze, growing veggies, and catching and killing my own meat.

Piss on your permits and taxes if I decide to live out in the sticks and be self sufficient.

I fully agree.

Problem is...the squeaky wheel always gets the grease. More often than not, it's the extremists on both sides of the aisle that make the most noise. Today's MSM does nothing but pay attention to the noise makers. Bottleneck everyone and the noisiest will take control because the majority (That "us" you made mention of) will get tired of all the bickering, tune it all out, and avoid bothering with getting involved.
