I'm betting Oklahoma insisted on this one. They gonna face an SEC schedule every year, No way in hell that they would want an OOC loss looming every year. Chicken shits don't understand that they gonna be an 8-9 win team in their best seasons from now on.

Say that all you want to, but UGA versus GT is an OOC game forever and I don't even like that. Many UGA fans would trade that annual game versus GT with an annual game versus Clemson. All day, every day, and all season, every season.

I dont understand why they cant keep that rivalry. Like ODD said, UGA keeps the OOC with GT. UK keeps the rivalry game with Louisville. Somebody has to fill those OOC games... so why do FCS teams get the priority? Is it an Oklahoma doesnt want to play OK St thing? Will Texas keep the Tex Tech game?

This case it’s more OK St not wanting to break contracts with already agreed upon OOCs, which is understandable.
Basically we said, nah dog, we ain't playing OU, Oregon & Bama in OOC. Ain't nobody in the country wanting that kind of seasonal smoke.

The Big XII plays 9 conference games. The SEC plays 8 conference games.
For the next ten years we have
Alabama
Arkansas
Colorado
Nebraska
Oregon
We have Arkansas scheduled 6 times over that time frame. Arkansas is our second most played game after Oklahoma.
If Oklahoma wants to pay the millions of dollars to break those contracts then cool we can play.
The thing is Oklahoma hasn't even shown interest to make it work. This is all posturing. The check mark in this tweet is an OU sports journalist.
The real reason this is even in the media is because OU is about to shut down their men's wrestling team because of the move to the SEC. It will hurt youth wrestling in Oklahoma which is huge. This is to save face, and try to blame OSU. OU tried to shut down Wrestling a few years ago for Men's Lacrosse. For the record this would be like Michigan, or Ohio State pre Urban Myers shutting down Football. OU is the number four overall wrestling program with 7 National Championships.
