Only answer is Iowa this week.

Purdue is known for this.

Now let me ask this now that you have the loss. Because as an ND fan I have this conversation all the time.

Lets say you guys go the rest of the and end with a loss and a conference championship. With this year being what it is. Would you rather take a team with the short comings you know they have a roll the dice on the playoff spot and possibly lose by 30. Or get a good NY6 bowl where you play for a win or a close loss?

You have to go with the playoff spot. Number 1 reason is marketing. You get the exposure of being there. Number two is who knows, you might catch lightning in a bottle and win a game you shouldn't.

It's true. Iowa's biggest problem is the offensive line. Starting 2 freshman at tackle and the guards are only so so. Center is great but he can't block everyone by himself. Iowa had quite a bit of attrition over the last couple years, lineman leaving early for the draft, a couple that washed out, another who would have been a big part of it just decided he didn't like football anymore this last spring or summer. Their second problem is qb. Petras likes to lock on to a receiver and not go through his reads very well. Dosen't move well in the pocket, and can't run, he is slow footed. But he fits ferentz's narrative of a big tall qb. I have heard that it was said by the coaches that the back up is just as accurate and more mobile, but lacks the height of petras, so supposedly height was more important. Take that with a grain of salt. But ferentz is well known for his stubbornness when it comes to trying someone different, thats been proven many times.

That's what I always tell people as well. Even though ND keeps getting its shit pushed in. I would rather lose in the playoff than win the camping bowl
