I love football,
I can remember the August practices like they were yesterday, the sweat stinging your eyes from under your helmet, the grass and little black seeds sticking to your legs,, the sound of your pads flapping while running in place, the whistle, and the quick slam against the ground as you drop and jump right back up.. in line waiting your turn in an Oklahoma drill, going against the biggest and baddest guy on the team, but not giving in, biting down on your mouthpiece as you run toward him and the rush of adrenaline as the collision can be heard and felt by everybody watching..
then the first cool hint of fall felt on an august evening knowing that its almost time..
