***College Wrestling Thread***

What was interesting about the schedule is they had the records vs all the opponents. Not one had a winning record. Iowa is 2 dual wins from tying the series.

Combined was 449- 90-ish.
It's been a great rivalry. Both fan bases hate the other school, but at the same time begrudgingly respect them as well.

National Duals coming up in a couple weeks and my Gophers open up this weekend against VaTech. Same opponent to start the National Duals.
Iowa starts i think the 6th vs Bellarmine. Than national duals. I haven't looked up who they wrestle there yet first round. It's cool you get to see what Va tech is like before duals

You have Missouri 1st rd. Not sure I like facing VaTech before but it is what it is.
It possibly allows you to right any wrongs from the first meeting. It's a tough tournament. I'm surprised OkSt is a 4 seed, but glad we won't see Ohio st or Nebraska till the finals.

It's going to be an odd year for wrestling. Not coaching the Ohio school club & doubt I'll do any helping with Indiana school club. My son will still wrestle but probably just Indiana school club (due to all kids' schedules) and he won't make the travel dual team as he's young & more older kids' size. They don't travel to individual tournaments as a team like our Ohio team did. Maybe he can be on their "2nd team" that does one tournament. That tournament is one our OH club does. Stepson is playing basketball & then wrestling. He probably won't see much matches as he's not as good as the wrestling only kids. Not going to lie, I feel lost not coaching. However I don't miss parent & kid drama.

Yeah you are going to have an adjustment period for sure. I'd recommend going to some college duals of a team close to you, dosen't matter what level, Or starting another hobby.

Hobby would be better for me but won't happen with time. One side of my family is all basketball. One stepdaughter is playing hoops but is out hurt. Never officially coached hoops but I'm positive I could have coached as well or better than our JV & Varsity coaches last night. Know damn sure I could over the 8th grade coach last year. I did both wrestling & basketball in the winter as a kid. I wish our state would have 4 seasons and move wrestling to spring and keep basketball in the winter.

My youngest just had his first practice. This will be his 3rd year, but his first yr to compete. It's going to be an interesting season.
