So they officially asked yesterday but I'm more of a babysitter & score keeper with maybe a bit of coaching. Told my stepson while picking him up from his basketball game. His reply was "Yeah because they're still pissed we whipped their ass the last 3 years at the WT tournament!" I laughed as he's not wrong but don't mind as it won't be on me when they get whooped. See if they let me do anything Thursday at practice. Guessing not much.

He has not been getting to his setups and shots, which if you watched him last year really wasn't a problem except against Messenbrink. He was a pretty offensive wrestler last year. In the finals against Gallagher, it was a tight match. if I remember right, Calliendo majored him last year. To me he's wrestling tight and it cost him this weekend.
 
Not used to being on a team getting their butt's kicked so bad. We got hammered our first 3 duals but somehow won the last 2 duals. I guess that's what happens when you have 2 total practices and 1 really that was dual team only. The kids have poor fundamentals and/or rusty. Hopefully they let me help more than just keeping score if they're going to list me as a coach on the roster. Drove me nuts watching all the kids struggle at certain concepts.
 
Hoping the alma mater's club wrestling coach saw my re-post this weekend. He made some remarks Thursday at practice about the OH club I coached & their kids. Also was taking a sly shot at me & other coaches still there. He's fucking 0-3 against me head to head. Those kids I coached won a decent sized middle school tournament and they forfeited a weight class (Buck's if he was still going to school there). I so badly want to bring it up, but for the kids' sake I'll be a good "volunteer assistant coach".
 
Finally got to see Marcus blaze and pj duke in a penn state singlet....yeah, they are going to be tough to deal with for the next couple years.
 
Indiana Youth dual team season is over. That was ugly as we lost every match at state & only 1 dual was close. Idk if we will do that again unless changes are made. Debating on joining up with our Ohio club for a couple individual tournaments and maybe a couple individual ones in IN. Stepson is finishing up basketball before his middle school wrestling. At least kids from my Ohio club & the Ohio club have had success this season.

Giving a lot of praise to my son for how he did given everything that has happened with us. Young man had teammates ridicule him after wrestle off he dropped to older kid, losing his baby brother, and making weight but getting punished by wrestling up 2 weight classes and still competed his butt off! He didn't win much but he didn't complain and gave his best effort. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger and he will continue to get stronger!
