OH school had 6 qualify for districts which is round 2 of 3 next weekend. Maybe we get that 1st state qualifier this year. The 106 was champ today so that helps. Other 3 nearby schools close in same division (3-the smallest) had 3, 3, & 2 respectively. The 2 bigger closer schools had 8 and 4 in Division 2 (middle division).

Aggravating wrestling day. OH school didn't get a qualifier as I was expecting. Then stepson wrestled in an invitation and wrestled as bad as I've ever watched him. Still placed 4th out of 7 or 8. My cousin's boy injured his foot earlier this week so he was out. He would have made the finals. His absence cost his team the team race to my stepson's team as they won by 1. Stepson's team won the dual on Monday over cousin's team by decent margin.

That was hard to watch.

Reminds of Dan Gable. He said when became a coach he realized that there was a 3rd person in the mat that he never had to account for as a competitor.
I don't know how that wasn't 3. They even reveiwed it. I could see maybe 50/50 when the hand touched but when he hit the mat on the return it definitely was, roll attempt or not. There was still time on the clock when he hit. Inconsistencies in the calls made by refs really plays huge parts in matches. Lunging out of bounds to avoid and backing straight out as well were called differently in the same tournament, possibly by the same ref.

No state qualifiers for girls in OH HS team either. However are old youth club for them finally won their own tournament. Of course the year I step down lol. Though we probably would have won it my 4 years in a row if I didn't go find teams each year that were way better than us & caused 4 years of 2nd places.
