Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Tour

Anyone going to his farewell tour? Just got my wife and I tickets for his show in Charlotte in September. Should be a lot of fun.

Has anyone ever been to an Elton John show before?
I have. Prolly at least twenty years ago. Outdoor venue here in KC area out by the NASCAR track. Had a great time and he put on a great show.

Never seen Elton but a buddy of mine who has probably seen every artist in every category imaginable told me, Elton and Garth Brooks put on the best shows heโ€™s seen.

My buddy is a rock n roller. The louder the better kind of fan. So this is a high rating in my opinion.

Oh hell yeah, that's some huge praise because I've been to a Garth concert and it's absolutely mind blowing.

I once bought front row seats for Black Sabbath from a scalper for $20.

Was it this guy?

Actually my date who was a knock out wearing a halter top bought the tickets. I gave her a $20 and went to find a parking place. When I got back she had the tickets. During the concert her top kept coming untied. We had the band concentrating on our side of the stage.
And now we see how you got tickets for "$20."

I've seen so many artists live that I can't remember them all. Elton and Billy Joel are 2 that I haven't seen that I always wanted to.

My top 2 are George Strait (twice), and (believe it or not) Poison (3 times). Metallica and Hank Williams Jr. are tied for 3rd. Huey Lewis and the News is a close 4th.

Poison with Warrant opening back in 87, I believe. Also Motley Crue with Whitesnake was a good one (same year). Garth Brooks put on a good show. Damn Yankees free concert on Camp Lejeune was good and so was Buffett.

First concert ever was Elvis....mom and aunt took me to his last concert in Louisville when I was really young.

I saw that tour in Hartford, CT. IMHO Whitesnake put on a far better show that the Crue did that night. I need to put that story in the "war stories" thread because it was the last night on shore before my first real run on my boat ... spoiler alert: have you ever been stopped by the police and made to buy clothes before leaving a concert venue?

@OldDevilDawg: My BIL/SIL saw Elton in concert just before the pandemic and said the show was great. Although it was obvious he was not in his prime, Elton was on stage for over three hours and gave it his all.
