Failure

For UGA, I think anything less than winning the SECEast would be the failure. The schedule is way too favorable to accept less.

This might be the most physically talented team I've seen in Athens in my lifetime.....and I was a Dawg fan before 1980. These guys have the talent and depth to compete with and beat any team in the nation. They are practically tied with Bama on blue chip ratio. (the number of 4 and 5 star players on the roster).

Can UGA get over the Bama mountain? I think they can, but whether they will or not remains to be seen.

It's hard for me to say because I am not looking at that in a wins and losses paradigm. We should compete in every game with sound fundamentals and without any quit. I need to see vast improvements in line and QB play.

Lots of talent on that defense. I'm STILL not sold on Nix. Harsin has the ability to give you what you ask for. Hell, sound fundamentals and no quit is what he's best at.

TBH our national championship season was the hardest to watch for me. Chiz would not teach tackling at all. If you were to watch any one quarter of any of our SEC games that season, just damn. With Nix, I am not sold but to be fair to him the route combinations were not QB friendly(neither was the Oline) and dump off passes were nonexistent. IMHO he bails too quick but we should see improvement.

Bobo is an outstanding QB coach. Always has been. He's a tunnel vision OC, though. He'll help Nix become more consistent, but it takes more than that. Best you can hope for is that Harsin keeps him from overthinking his playbook.

Getting blown out week to week, quitting early in games, looking lost and poor cohesion, and not having any real improvement in the analytical numbers.

Wins and Losses are almost immaterial to me this year given the make up of the team and the and the brutality of the schedule. This year is about showing legit progress as a program as a whole. It’s about competing with the middle of this league, showing fight against the elites and identifying the young players to build with moving forward.

If this team goes 5-7 but loses 6 games by two scores or less, has a couple of blowouts or decisive wins, and cuts down on penalties and alignment issues, I’ll be ok.

If it’s 4-8 and has multiple games getting blown out by the middle of the league like the last couple of years, then I’ll start to have some uneasiness moving forward.

For me, I need to see us go 3-0 in non-conference, win at least 2 out of 4 against Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State, AND finish bowl season with 9 wins......If not, as I believe the saying goes..."Theres always next year".....😏😩

Not making Bowl eligibility or the Playoffs, depending on which Division we're talking about.
