Luv the organized firework shows because their optional and usually held away from neighborhoods. The neighbors on the other hand is a different story. These cvnts shoot them off for hours and when they run out of fireworks they break out the guns. Meanwhile the animals are freaking out. I pray for the day my neighbors lose a couple of fingers.

Our dogs freak out over fireworks too. I hope it don't rain or the next three days will be horrible on them.

I had a dog once who was terrified of the fireworks, I always felt so bad for her. Of course it was back when we lived in a place where the whole first week of July sounded like a war zone. We don’t have shit for fireworks where I live now, too much fire danger. People have been talking about organizing one of those drone shows. Apparently they cost about 30k. That’s probably not far off of what a big fireworks display would cost. As much as I enjoy some cool explosions, those drone shows are pretty awesome too. I might even fork over some cash to be a sponsor. It would be cool to see my company logo lighting up the sky.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A South Carolina man was killed after trying to “show off” with fireworks at a Fourth of July party Thursday night.

When deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a neighborhood block party in Summerville at 10:23 p.m., they found a man lying in the roadway suffering from major head injuries.

Witnesses told deputies the injuries were from a fireworks accident.

The coroner later said the victim, 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew, had ignited a large firework device and set it on his head. The device exploded, causing “massive head injuries.”

McGrew was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the victim’s wife told deputies she believed he placed the firework on his head to “show off” at the block party. Family members tried to get him to stop, but the firework went off, and McGrew collapsed.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.

Seems someone could have headed off disaster.

I had a similar experience with my neighbors who would set off fireworks almost every three weeks, each day seemed like a celebration for them, lol. the constant explosions were so loud they would rattle my windows and send my pets into a panic. but one day, the guy who was always lighting them up injured his hand pretty badly, and thankfully, they stopped their frequent fireworks displays after that. it was like a curse had been lifted, and the quiet returned :)
