Without a doubt, you're completely right. I'd like to make it clear, though.......Those folks that went off to fight Hitler and Tojo were never told by their leaders that they were not allowed to shoot back when they were fired upon. That ROE has been in play numerous times since WWII.

That won't fix it, though. If everybody in Congress and everybody in MSM had a DD-214, we might get somewhere. You and I both know that will never happen. Mandatory military service works great for Israel, but no way in hell could we pull it off here.

Honestly, I don't think anything will fix it at this point. When both parties nominate the worst people they can find and true independents are too few to matter, where is the fix?

Prolly forever stuck in 1776. Because we both know that ain't gonna happen again either.

Fuck it. As a nation, we had a good run. Throughout history, most didn't last over 200 years so we don't have a reason to complain, I guess. Just enjoy the rest of the ride and let 'em hit the ditch as you go by.

Need a third party of moderates. Seems to be where most of us are. Does not have to win a presidency, but has to be able to have the swing votes in congress so that nothing gets done without them. I'd prefer them to be of a Libertarian lean...

I agree. But i could then see those on the far left counter that with more and more socialism (which they are trying to do right now) and we are basically back to a two party system of socialists and libertarians instead of repubs and dems.

unless and until we ignore those on the far left and the far right, they will continue to divide us- which is what both "wings" are about

I agree. And I think most on the far right are ignored - per at least condemned. KKK, white supremacist Richard Spencer types are routinely condemned by leaders on the right - because they try to find shelter by endorsing right leaders. Sadly, leaders on the left refuse to do likewise.

Many leaders on the left (sanders for example) and within the media secretly endorse far left extremists.
