Having just watched the Bama A day game…

So with Buchner.

Ye was highly touted out of high school. And was a Tommy Reese guy. From the BK teams.

His problem is his health. The kid literally has played 1 full season in the last 5 years. And is only a sophomore this year and has 3 year of eligibility left. And is a junior in college this year.

Personally I think the game has passed him by. And the ghosts of his injuries haunt him. In the spring game he looked so lethargic lacked the vision you would expect from someone in the system this long. And is good for depth.

His character is solid. He is the 'right kind of guy' from a personality side. Just not who you would lean on, in the last drive to win as an under dog.

If you want to see what he can do. Go and watch the ND / SCar bowl game last year. Ye had 5 TDs in it. And fought all the way. But still made some real bine headed plays. But he was given space because he was out from game 2 until the bowl on injury.

I don't see Bama taking him. Other than the Tommy Reese connection. I think he is in T town today to have that honest conversation about where he would be pecking order wise on a Bama depth chart post spring game.

I need to legitimately watch it and see if the QB play is that bad.
I really believe that Bama has its QB on roster right now. I really believe that with the NCAA shaving about a dozen plays a game with its rule changes that you are going to see Saban going more old school. Kirby has proven that you can still win B2B championships playing a more old school style. You guys have the O-line and a stable of RBs that is probably unparalleled in modern football history and a standard Bama 5 star laden defense. I fully expect Saban to adapt the Smart Formula ....

I would take UGAs OL and RBs over Bama right now and Bama ain't even close in the TE room. If Bama's #1 WR is Burton, who left UGA because he wasn't earning enough playing time, they're in trouble there, too. The Smart Formula you speak of was created by Saban. Recruit the best and then get them to buy in to the process. Smart is having his success from that formula because he's living his dream. He grew up listening to Larry Munson on the radio. He grew up bleeding Red N Black. He grew up dreaming of playing football for the University of Georgia. He's the HC for the team he grew up loving, the team he gave 4 years of his blood, sweat, and tears to. His passion for what he's doing is 40+ years in the building. That, my friend, is the difference between Kirby and Nick.

That at 5 national titles.

Basically. TB stats in the bowl game. Which by far has been his high water mark in college.

Throwing 18/33 274 yards 3 TD, 3 INT
Running 12 rushes for 61 yards and 2 TD

His only other full game was against Ohio St. And he didn't even look that good.

You can YouTube the full Gator Bowl from last year to see him play.

Kill me now.
He is a good. "I want to win 10 games" this season kind of guy.

But he isn't championship caliber. And I'm not being an asshole in saying. The Bama line this year isn't going to be any better than the ND line was last year. And Tommy Rees is a Dou run game guy. He loves pre snap motion and constant half field pre snap scans. There was a hash tag of "ban the scan" during ND games all last year.

Again. Go watch the Gator Bowl. See how times that ND had SCar put away and let them back in offensively because of turn overs and idiot offensive plays
