Hey gumps

He shoulda left both in Baton Rouge to find their own way home. Frankly, he shoulda fired both of them at the end of the season last year.
They really screwed up getting rid of Cochran. Bama teams have always been tough at the LOS. They haven't been this year

They didn't get rid of him, Kirby stole him. I'm just lucky enough that my team is reaping the rewards.
There was a lot of shit talking when Cochran left Bama for UGA from Bama fans. They claimed that he was the reason for injuries to Bama players and that UGA was gonna "find that out real soon". I'm actually thankful it didn't end up that way because when you get advice from the fan base of the greatest dynasty in the history of the CFB, you have no choice but to take it seriously.

Here's my debbie downer moment. The following is a c&p from somewhere else:

//Saban made the statement a few years back that he wants assistants who aren’t looking to bolt after a great season. He accomplished that with some of the guys he hired/promoted, but the problem is they aren’t looking to leave for a reason.

Bowden’s downfall at FSU were his hires. He was the exact same coach in the 90s when FSU was winning as he was in the 2000s when FSU became mediocre. His assistants were not.\\

With all that goes into cfb the recruiting which takes time I understand not wanting to also have to go thru the assistant/co-ordinator thing all the time.

BUT!!!!! I saw it last year that the coaching was sub par from his staff and they are there this year as well. If Saban is willing to put up with that then maybe Saban needs to take a long look in the mirror.

I had to think about this, but this is how I feel.

You and I actually had this conversation last year. Simply as 2 old CFB fans. Had nothing to do with teams N shit, was just the observations of some old CFB fans and what they've seen over the decades.

Co-signed. Perhaps his last great act as a coach is to know when it’s time to call it the greatest career in college football.

Well. Good chance that Jimbo is job hunting after this season ;)

and I don’t think the defense is awful. I think it is under performing and needs to improve and not to the Bama standard. But also it is often out in shitty positions often due to the offense.

I posted a year or 2 ago that I hoped Saban would take a page out of Erk Russell's playbook. Retire early enough that you can enjoy you kids and grandkids. Don't do like Bear and die shortly after you leave the sideline. I was mocked as hoping to get Saban out of the way so UGA might stand a chance of ever winning anything. I was being honest from my heart then, and now. The important things in life transcend CFB. No matter what happens in CFB, I hope Saban (and every other coach in CFB) makes the decision to ALWAYS put their relationship with kids and grandkids ahead of their own desires.

Well, when I would comment on BAMA's slop last year I got from multiple posters that they were young. Look, I'm no cfb mind but I know what I was looking at.

And it comes from seeing Saban teams play to a standard. Wasn't there last year and it's not there this year.

I spose it depends if BAMA drops another game (or 2) but a coupla days ago I saw a projection that had them vs Kansas St. Well, whoever BAMA plays I just hope they are up for it w/o to many sit outs.
Ugh, that’s like eating a shit caked pinecone.

I saw a projection for Bama vs Clemson in the Orange Bowl. I mean if ND beat them, Bama should be able to kill them by 90
