How do you quit smoking

well, im at a crossroads,, the trip fucked me up,, I did good in Savannah at my brothers,, but when I got to J'ville to my old Navy buddys place the drinks started flowing and we set up the cornhole boards in the driveway and all the neighbors showed up, and the block party lasted a day and a half.. I aint built for that shit no more lol.. the 8 hour drive home hungover was the killer, it was too hard to not smoke when I could'nt busy myself into forgetting that I wanted a cigarette so I just lit em let the miles pass..
Now, I either need to get back on the horse or chalk this up as a failed attempt..

Never quit failing, it means you quit reaching for success.

If players quit when the going got tough, they'd play for Auburn.

Don’t bust your own balls over it. You’re human. Just chalk it up as part of the process and keep moving forward.

Relapse is normal in any addiction. Dont go down that hell hole with guilt. Get back on that wagon.

The long drives and gatherings make it so hard to stay off cigarettes, especially after you’ve had a streak going. For me the social stuff is the toughest, as I really feel the need of smoking especially when drinking. I slipped a few times on road trips and just tried not to feel guilty about it. What helped me was switching things up with vaping, I wanted something simple I could use in social situations or when driving. I came across the Avomi fliq 4 in 1 a while back and the all-in-one setup made it way easier to resist lighting up.

The good thing about losing a battle is that the war is still on. You're not beaten unless it's the end of the war.

yep, im gonna make another run at this thing soon,, amazing how easy it is to find reasons to delay starting something you dread!

47 years.. Marlboro reds.. 2 packs a day.. it's time to give em up. I don't know if I can do it.
Pretty simple really.

Just start developing habits and routines to keep yourself preoccupied.

As time passes, you'll still have that knack in the back of your mind that it's time for a cigarette, but it won't feel like a need, as much. And eventually it will get easier and easier to tell yourself "no".
