I was going to retire three years ago but the owner of the bank made me an offer I could not turn down. So I am semi-retired.
I work one day a week and occasionally more if needed. All told I have a salary, commissions, Social Security, dividends from an investment account, and a check from the Federal Reserve where I took an early retirement. I have not turned the income on from my two IRA accounts.
I have been paying taxes on six figures all three years as I have for years.
In addition I owe no debts and have over $200,000 in emergency funds.
There are people with more than me but to quote one of my Doc friends if you bring in more than you spend all is good. All is good.
