No thanks. But you do you

Both my wife and I are covered in tattoos, granted they are all ceremonial/earned tattoos.

It's different in our society, somebody without tattoos is one of two things, either they assimilated into mainstream culture OR they've never done a damn thing in their life worthy of being told to get a tattoo.

What is your brand? Here you don't see them much, Mostly freeze brands for cow numbers and such, which I'm going to start doing before very long. I'm sick and tired of loosing ear tags in the brush.
We have a lot of open range here so branding is necessary. I'm not running any currently, but keep my brand registered (good for i think 5 or 7 years each registration.) My brand is the Reverse R P ( my initials) basically a backwards R connected to a normal P.

Back when I was young I worked on a ranch in Nebraska on the northern edge of the sand hills and of course everything there was hot branded. The Ranches brand was the MW.

Culturally is one thing. But to get so disfigured because it's the "in" thing is something else.

Just think, 40 years from now nobody will notice all the big boobs at the belly button or boners in the old man shorts, because they'll be too busy trying to figure out what all the tattoos used to look like. It's a win for Idiocracy if you ask me.

I never got a tattoo, mostly because Dad said it was his big regret. He got an eagle on his forearm and 20 years later it looked like an ink blot. I have no problems with those that get them for whatever reason they choose. I do think there is going to be a lot of regret when those sleeves and necks get middle aged.

I have one, an anchor On my upper right arm I got 40 years ago. Still looks good.

splain that dog..
Bad Conduct Discharge. BCD. Big Chicken Dinner was our little term.

I damned near got a BCD but instead I was awarded reduction in rank, 45 days restriction, 45 days extra duty, and forfeiture of 2/3 monthly pay for three months. Less than a year later I had two letters of commendation from a fleet admiral. When I screw up, I do it right.
