Not a good look for Jermaine Burton. Bro, there's never a good excuse to hit a woman.

Well I did post that part in my initial post, so yes, I was well aware of that. While he was "supposed" to be the next 1,000 yard WR for Bama (the "reason" he left UGA) He hasn't surpassed his UGA threshhold in Bama's offense. Frankly, my Dawgs offense hasn't noticed his absence.
You looking forward to the UT game?

DV class:

Offender: She made me do it, I had no control.
Teacher: If you were going to fight a man would you punch him with a fist or slap him?
Offender: Id beat the hell out of him with my fists
Teacher: So why did you slap the woman?
Offender: I dont know! I just slapped that bitch
Teacher: You had a choice, so you WERE in control.
Offender: Oh shit...

Does not apply to Will Smith because he knew Chris Rock wouldnt fight back and weighs probably 120lbs like a woman.

UGA took 0 players from the portal this past season. Maybe Kirby thinks like you do.
I'm just saying that in the time of NIL and the portal, be careful with motivations and character. As far as the using the NIL money as a recruiting tool, IF that is the primary reason someone signs with you then you need to be extra careful.

Pretty sure she's gonna end up pressing assault charges. That will be the end of his Bama career. It's not like he's done a helluva lot for their offense. Going back to @batchaps4me statement in that other thread about portal transfers, maybe this is a good example of his point.
Not sure if she will win (not saying she shouldn't). There have been cases in the past where fans were injured after storming the field and the courts have stated that they were technically trespassing. This is a blatant hit however, so who knows.

My first reaction any time a situation like this occurs is, Kick his sorry ass off the team,,
and, I've heard Saban talk about similar things this way,, do you just automatically trash and give up on a kid when they make a mistake, in the heat o the moment, or do you use this as the teaching moment it is...
I believe the latter, now dont get me wrong,, Im not condoning this type behavior, Im from the school that says you never hit / strike a woman,, you walk away,, I've also been attacked by a crazy bitch before when Ive had to restrain her to keep from being injured myself.. quite different than going on the offensive..
in this case, it appears as if Burton was walking off the field and this woman said something he didnt like and he struck her.. if that is the fact of the matter and it looks like it is,, then Saban will probably do what he's done in the past,, publicly he'll say that they are reviewing the facts and the player will be given a list of things to do and achieve that will help that player learn from his mistake,, Saban will not publish what that list entails,
The Saban haters will say that he is letting a starter get off the hook and not really punishing him, but I disagree,, It remains to be seen how quickly Burton may or may not see the field again.

I do not think the woman has pressed charges, yet. You're assuming the woman said something to provoke him, but you have no proof of that. I believe the woman was just jubilant over the win and rushing the field with everyone else. Burton was upset with the game and the happy Vol fans and just swatted her. He wasn't trying to take her head off, but he was upset with the situation.

Agreed, I don't know the circumstances. Still, I don't think witches should have been burned in Salem, and I don't think Burton should be castrated just yet.

Tennessee paid the SEC a 100K fine for rushing the field. There's a reason that it's against the rules. It puts players and fans in danger of injury, first and foremost. Mustard bottles be damned. Golf balls........nope. Let's lose our shit and create a chaotic situation that has unintended consequences. Take all the pride you want to, but lack of self control on the part of the Vols fanbase caused the entire situation. Spin it however you want, but rules got broken, UT's president reveled in the chaos, and now a young man is facing potential assault charges because of it. Was he wrong? Damn right he was. Should he have been put in a situation that gave him a reason to make a bad decision? Nope.

Well, you're welcome to your opinion, but you are that last person I would have expected to hear that opinion from. The rule was broke and the fine paid. I'm not for the sissifying of the the country in general and sports in specific. You want to run with the Bulls in Spain, wing walk an airplane, or swim the English channel knock yourself out in my opinion, I would do away with targeting unless ruled intentional. Football is dangerous, people get maimed and killed from it every year. A lot more people get injured on the football game than in the few instances when students rush the field. Look at UGA's injury report or UT's or anybodies. Did the UGA President scorn the rushing of the field. If so, I'm glad I'm not an UGA Alumna. It's Burton's fault. Maybe bama should wrap his ass in bubble wrap so he comes to or gives no harm. Everyone should be responsible for themselves and that includes everyone.

I'm assuming that this statement includes your Tennessee fanbase. Like I said, spin it however you want. Rules were broken. Control yourselves, Vols. It ain't that fucking hard to avoid going straight to trailer park trash level (expert).
