No great mystery in the selection. SMU did everything but beat Clemson in the ACC Championship game. We beat Clemson the week before, in Clemson. I KNOW we are a playoff caliber team, so I know SMU and Clemson are now playoff worthy, despite Clemson getting thrashed by the Dawgs in the first game of the season. The Dawgs and Horns have shown they are solid, twice.

So I can't pick against the Horns in Austin, BUT, I considered doing so. Clemson might pull the upset. I now know they are capable.

The BG10 power teams are more susceptible in big games to upsets than SEC teams (THE and MICH game for example). I'm not feeling it in my gut towards the Horns, but I AM feeling it towards PSU. (Sorry Psute).

Valid points. I'm not necessarily saying you are right, but from my experiences when someone is seeing something that everyone else is missing AND it is based on sound reasoning, that it should make everyone cautious at least. IMHO since no team is head and shoulders elite over everyone else, the games are going to be decided by scheme and matchups instead of overall talent.

No, and you must keep in mind that Vegas doesn't care about the spread being accurate beyond the point of getting the bets to split as close to 50/50. It is not a measure of who will win by what margin, but what will make the money split good enough for them to be guaranteed that the Vig will be profit.

ND just got huge news. Their best interior DL Riley Mills is out the rest of the season on injury.

So now ND has replaced their whole D line minus 1 player they just back from injury for the Indiana game.

Govern yourselves accordingly
