Prime Rib or Turkey

Do you consider a prime rib roast instead of turkey on Thanksgiving 'un-American'?

  • Hang the commie b@stard!

  • Prime rib is a nice change

  • I'm a recent immigrant so my opinion doesn't matter

I've been cooking the turkey w/oyster stuffing (dressing is for communist) for the past eight years now ... family get together and I'm getting the sh1ts of it. That and I'm not all that big on turkey to begin with so I thought a prime rib roast would be a nice change. Thoughts?

I liked the post because the concept is good, I love some prime rib, why not on the Thanksgiving day,, but you lose serious credit for your opinion on dressing, Yankee stuffing is made with white bread crumbled up in some turkey stock with some sage thrown in, cornbread dressing is made with cornbread obviously but eggs are also drizzled in before baking, you obviously have never had a good plate of dressing with giblet gravy!

In OP's defense, I love me some oyster casserole. Gotta have the the broccoli casserole also. However, ya gotta have some stuffing n gravy on the side.

I use two bags of seasoned bread crumbs, chopped onion, chopped celery, egg, chopped up turkey innards, and two jars of oysters (chopped up).

Given the choice between beef and bird, I’m always going with beef.

A proper fried turkey is best, but would likely prefer prime rib over a pedestrian baked turkey.

I recently read that you shouldn't eat turkey because it is a close cousin to a a buzzard. 😁
