From what I'm reading it's going to come down to Lanning or DeBoer. Lanning looks to be the better fit at Bama imo.

The "new" age of CFB has passed Dabo.

I also think that it has been shown that without excellent assistant coaches Dabo is not all that ... and add in his aversion to the transfer portal and I would say he will be retiring before long.

I think there is a very good chance of Dabo and a few other coaches retiring over what football has become.

Thing is, Saban has an old school mentality and now that cfb has become the nfl's minor league I think he didn't like what was going on. Neither do I.

I am of the opinion that this is not a sudden and unexpected announcement to the university. My bet is that the search has already happened, Saban was heavily involved in it, and before the public retirement announcement, a deal was already agreed to in principle at least.

I agree. Regardless of whether it's Lanning or not, I expect Alabama will announce their hire by the end of the week.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some NFL names get targeted. Like Monkin. However with the Ravens heavily in the post season race I doubt that is a very public one.
