I don't think there's a lot UW could have done. It's Alabama and very few coaches were going to turn them down.

Everyone keeps talking about not wanting to follow a legend but that's a loser mentality IMO. If you're the kind of person Alabama wants, you need to have confidence that you can win just as much as Nick Saban, if not more. It may not happen but you have to believe that. I have no doubt KD believes he can be just as successful as Saban was. And why shouldn't he? He's been successful everywhere he's gone.

Another good note for Alabama, Nick Saban left at the right time IMO. How many times do great coaches hang on too long and end up hurting the program at the end of their tenure? I'm thinking of Joe Pa and Bowden specifically. Great coaches but the programs fell off towards the end of the tenure. Saban retired from a team that won the SEC and lost the semis in OT to the team that ultimately won the title. KD is inheriting a loaded roster that's ready to compete for titles from Day 1. Alabama fans should be especially thankful to Saban for not just all the championships but not holding on too long (which he would have been entitled to do).

I just got off the phone with Deboer. He’s looking to cash in from Bama to fund his real passion, which is to locate Sasquatch.

He isn’t about winning and has a soft spot for Auburn. I believe he even said “War damn eagle!”.

I said Coach, you have to be kidding! Naw he says, I’m going to burn it down.

FYI, don’t be surprised to see checkerboard patterns in the end zones in Tuscaloosa next fall, Kalen said it’s a cool feature. There will be other surprises too, but that’s all I can share now.

It was a great run. The best run actually. But Sasquatch wins the day.

Nothing to do with Bama's tradition and all to do with the benjamins hence the reason he hired Jimmy Sexton as his agent.

Fisch is the frontrunner to be the next UW coach. I think that would be a very good hire for UW. He's young, he's got NFL experience and College HC experience. I hope they can get this done.

Either way, I expect UW to announce their new coach today. It will likely be someone from the Big 12. If it's not Fisch, I would expect either the KU or KSU coach to get the job. Matt Campbell has an outside chance as well.

Big Ten vs. Big 12 - I love the Big 12 and what BY has does but UW is still one of the top couple of jobs in one of the two premier conferences

And with the portal, he can bring his guys with him.

and ultimately, the dollars will likely prevail -
how much could Az raise his salary?
could they get close to the $4.2 DeBoer was gettin?
probably not -
i guess for an extra million or so,
he might choose a soon-to-be
middle of the pack school -
