Should I....

I am thinking about going to make a day trip on Sunday to watch potentially my first NBA Basketball game (I know everyone hates NBA here). I can score two tickets as cheap as $32 for an Orlando Magic game and the arena is 4.5 hours from the house. Should I take the day trip Sunday Night for tip off at 7:30 PM to win up getting back in at 3 AM, and going to work the next day? Should I do it?

Minor Note: Wife is penny pinching before tax time

I wouldn’t do that to watch an Alabama football game, but that’s just me. Long haul and a long day for sure. If it’s one of your “to do” list items, and the wife doesn’t have a conniption fit about it why the hell not?

NBA games, can be fun once in a while. Usually take it one live Thunder game a year, although I only live about 20 minutes from downtown OKC. And I have made Friday/Saturday night trips to Dallas and back for Mavericks games. But the scenario your proposing would be totally out of the question for me. Like @RTR...USN (ret) said, I have a hard time driving 45 minutes for an OU game

That bolded part would make it a no for me.

Also.....what kinda NBA game starts at 7:30 AM?? 😁

Meh ... anything that causes me to get back to the house at 3am, and isn't making me a shitload of money is not worth it, personally.

Now if I was getting home at midnight, I might but anytime after that there is a real possibility that I will just snooze while driving so.... with no driver AND getting home at 3am. Most likely I'd take a pass.

If you feel that you are able to handle it, my advice is to go for it. Don't wait until your body can't handle the trips before attacking your bucket list. I live in the NE corner of TN and have made more than one day trip to Nashville to catch a concert or shows by various stars being recorded for live CD tracks. I would drive 6 hours, see a show and drive back home. I loved every minute of it.

Ask yourself if you’d be more likely to regret or second guess going or not going.

i went to a ton of Kings games in their KC days. I always found it eye-opening (if not outright shocking) how small the court seemed and how low the rims and backboards seemed when watching in person, and how fast the game could move from one baseline to the other.

I also love road trips so my decision would be easy.
