So today, my daughter got her LPN pin. She graduated at the top of her class. 4 and a half years ago she was in a state facility undergoing a mandated rehab from a meth addiction to avoid an extended prison sentence. 5 years clean and living life with a determined smile. I don't have words to describe how proud I am of her.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

When I came back to AA I had a 10th grade education and not much else going for me. 9 years later I had a trade that I was certified in and a degree.
Was it easy? Not friggin hardly. But a few years later I had a resume' that would get me flown to a job interview.

Gotta work at it and it can be done.

Thanks to all of you. I do think her story can be an inspiration. As an LPN, she's likely to see more than a few drug OD's in her future. Maybe she'll get the opportunity to tell them her story and save a life or 2.

My stepdaughter spent many years strung out after her Dad was killed in the line of duty as a police officer her senior year in HS. That was 20 years ago. She's 4 years clean now and doing very well.
