I'm bout due for some new shades,, been sporting some Costa's for the last 5 years.. unbelievable how long I keep shit now days without losing it.. Hell, I cant remember NOT using a lighter completely up..
anyway,, Is Costa still the best brand for the money or is there something new out ??

I had a big coupon for Maui Jim and bought a set as close to my Costas as possible.

Steel frame in the legs, the hinges open a bit past normal to keep you from damaging or warping the frame if you put them on your head/hat, and excellent glass lenses.

My Costas are now backups.

I'm with @OldDevilDawg on this one. Cheap sunglasses are the way to go. I wear them alot and destroy 3 or 4 pair a year. Lenses get scratched, gouged, broken. I can spend 80 bucks on 4 pairs and be out very little and last me a whole year. I'd be pissed if I spend 100 on one pair and destroy them in a month or 2.

to have expensive sunglasses,
altho i have a pair of scrips
that i keep in my truck for drivin -

TBH, I do not wear sunglasses. The last pair I bought was clip on for my Silhoulette glasses I had about 6 years ago and they were yellow. Other than that the last pair I bought was Gargoyles back in the 80s to keep from being snowblind in CT.

I always keep a pair of polarized cheapos.

I'm not cutting trees from a roof wearing my high end stuff.

Years ago I bought cheap ones. Finally ponied up and bought some high dollar ones. Thirty years later still have.

The best lens IMO is Serengeti, but they have cheapened up the frames lately.

Unfortunately my eye surgeon screwed up my cataracts and I now need glasses to drive. Use clip ons but looking at alternatives.

I usually wear cheap ones on the farm. Lose or break them too easily. I keep a decent pair in the truck - used to be Oakleys but lost those. Now have a pair of Nike that I like quite a bit.
